Got Invited To A Race.

i was driving with my X, and these two guyz in a GT stopped next to me. As a joke i reved only once. Light turned green and the guy floored it, leaving me behind.. The girl goes, you gonna let him do this to you. Im thinking she is encouraging a race. I come to the next light, him next to me again. this time i turn my traction off, light turns green and we floor it, we go at it till about 70mph, and i made somewhere around .5-.75 CL on him...i was happy considering a previous mustang walked on me slowly casue i did not prepare properly, or mabye was it was not stock..oh well another vicotry mine..

and even my TT cant just 'walk away' from them considering they come with 300hp stock

i highly doubt that, ive seen plenty GT enoucnters with turbo VWs, and none of them stock were able to gain much if anything (Depending on the driver) on a chipped VW (minimal)..so my chances against them are relatively good. and ive raced plenty normal mustangs V6s and they dont stand a chance, i leave them 5 cars behind before shutting down.

then dude, i really feel sorry for you if you cant handle a GT..im not saying my car is will smoke it. Stock GT Vs, a 1.8T with my mods, is a tight race with VWs coming out at the top. A moded GT is another story. I raced one previously, from my visible knowledge, it had an aftermarket exhaust, and it bearly walked on me.. so no they are not all they are made to be. a V8 4.6L with only 240hps is pretty bad engineering if you ask me..

actually i think they are about 250-260hp

you can say what you want.....but i know for a fact that a with a gud driver that can launch.......a 250hp moostang GT (and all the last model GT are 250-260hp) will hand you ur ass in a lil 1.8T with a stock turbo ....and even with the mods that you have (ur APR 93 ECU and DP etc and all)

i dun care if its a stand still or 40-100 or however you want it

the point you have to understand is that its probably a bad driver or it was a fake GT

caz if not there is not way a 1.8t with the mods that you have can keep up with the moostang GT


yeah they are poorly engineered and all, but so as a lotta other american cars....but the fact that a car with 250-260hp vs a car that's stock is 150hp and i'll give you BOD (benifit of the doubt) of 200hp (which is a BIG doubt) on pump gas will NEVER be able to run the GT.....caz looking at simple HP output #s......you need about an extra 80-100hp (from ur mods) to outrun the GT and that's impossible without a turbo upgrade.......

but no matter what if you said you took him then you did......just pray that you wont encounter another GT with a person who knowns how to drive caz they WIL hand you ur a$$

vodka, im sorry but youre wrong, ive seen plenty VWs ( with only chip and intake) race against Stock GT, and all came out at the top( not by much but still came out at the top), granted most of them were GTIs not jettas, but still there is not much difference in weight. Ive lost to one mustang GT, and it bearly walked away from me. He was about a car lenght ahead of me when i puched it, and ended up being 1.5 CL behind him because of the gear i was in. and that was at about 70mph shut down.

the GTI is a total diff story

1st of all the GTI are about 150lb lighte than the jettas

2nd of all most of the newer GTI comes stock with 180hp (when ur 1st generation 1.8t jetta is running 150hp stock)

the 180hp 1.8t GTI engine are MUCH better tuned vs the 150hp 1.8t engine

and ys they are the same engine....but a lot diff in a lotta ways....just like my 1.8T engine is very diff compared with the 1.8t engine in the A4s and the VWs 1.8t

and i bet you that most of those GTIs have a lot more than just a chip.......

and to get into more detail most of the VW/AUDI owner would know the limit of the K03 turbo.......the efficiency range is about 0.9-1.3 bar on pump 91 RON gas

and the highest HP output i have seen on a K03 turbo with only a chip mod is only at about 200hp max (and that's based on a 1.8t wth a stock hp of 180hp)

dun be looking at all the dyno charts that APR, REVO or whoever else got out there to fool you........they are NOT running on stock car and most of them not even on pump gas...and that's straight from REVO talking themselves.....

dont think that by simpily turning up the boost on a 1.8t engine would get u some magic HP or 30 or 50hp...the truth is that it wont...you need a lot of other parts to make that 30-50hp (such as IC, FPR, MAF, EXHAUST, DP etc.) esp the k03 with a single IC on the side and a 3BAR FPR

and tell me how much boost are you running (peak) and how much boost is ur turbo putting out overall (holding boost) and from what rpm range??

i can go into a lotta details about this (ie heat soak, air intake restriction, timing etc etc.) but the point is that there is realy no way that your jettas can outrun a late model moostang GT with a gud driver

the GTIs.....well that's a whole diff car and a fairly diff 1.8t engine

no it was a brand new 2005 turbo...dun even have plates yet
