So as some of you know, I sold off my Mosselman turbo'd Mercedes some time ago, and replaced it w/ a WRX wagon (love the wagons). Well, as any good car guy I have modded it to basically its full potential on stock turbo (but will probably upgrade turbo later).

ANYWAY, today I was driving along and typical race scenario. Red light comes, young guy w/ Hemi 300C pulls next to me, I assume a race and get ready, light turns green, we both hit it. Guess what, at 70mph I am a good car lenth ahead. I might have even had a great er lead on him, but I was beating him so easily that I thought perhaps he wasnt racing and therefore let off the gas (only to hear his engine screaming and realizing he still was racing).

At any rate, here are some other cars I have killed: modded S2000, 3.0L Z3, Boxter S, etc. I tried to race a C36 but he wouldnt do it.

I had to "settle" for the WRX when I was considering more expensive cars, due to massive student loan debt (this whole law school thing better pay off). Well, I guess it was fate b/c I love this car so incredibly much. I always think about more expensive cars I had considered and am glad it "didnt work out" (ie., new A4, Land Rover, XTerra SC, used IS300, S2000). I will probably stick with Subaru until (if ever) I start making some good money. Its so cheap and easy to make fast (but its fast right out of the box too).

Just to let you know my particular Scooby's limits, I have lost to a modified C5 (but I had him up until around 65mph), and a modified 2004 Cobra. Though both these were modded, they probably would have beaten me anyway, even if they were stock. Oh, and I chickened out from racing a newer 911 turbo - I knew it would just be pointless.

Talk to Ali Afshar at Easy Street (http://www.easystreetmotorsports.com) and tell him I sent ya. Hes a good guy that I went to school with (abeit slammed at times on some forums for his use of Aussie sourced parts. GO OZZIE!!) and could help you out.

mayb i ask how much boost are you running on the stock WRX turbo....any heat soaking problems?? r u running on stock ICs

just wanna compare it with mine

i have been racing the previous model vette (1998-2004 non Z06) lately on several occasions...... and i suprise em all

all of em thinks that they would just 'take off' but in fact none of em did......the most obvious occasion was we were side by side from about 65-130mph b4 we both on 101 from paso robles to SLO

we both shut down by about 135mph or so.....he looked at me with a very suprise look and a thumbs up

:P

I can't rmemeber stock but right now I am at 16.5psi (I think stock is 14.7) according to my gauge. I am running Cobb Accessport Stage 2 for engine management (tuned for no cats, 93 octane). I have no heat soak problem, depsite the fact its a top mount IC. I guess the larger STi scoop I have helps draw in more cool air. The good thing about top mount is the shorter IC piping - less likely to have pressure loss.

I had my Prodrive springs put in yesterday and the guy who did it has a modded WRX too. We talked and I think I am going to go for the VF22 turbo upgrade, at which point I would have to upgrade the IC too (currently run stock). I will be in the 300-330hp range for only around $1,500 when all is said and done after the VF22 upgrade and all the other things I will need with it. Some people got 350hp out of VF22, but thats really pushing it.

Good kill man!! I guess the 300C was stock... modded one may give a bit more trouble, but they weigh almost 3 times as much as your scoobie :)

I may barely outmusle a stock STI...but a modded one will have me for lunch.

Not only did it look really stock, but I think the driver was talking on his cell phone too. Can you believe it, racing while talking on the cell phone. Well, at least he was on it when I passed him before we got next to eachother in the stoplight...

that's pretty gud i am just a bit suprise that you are actually not running a whole lot more boost (compared with stock)

but i guess u r also not running 91oct i assume

i am running about 20-22psi on my TT on stock K04s with REVO custom tuned with a race N75, a manual boost controller and a 4bar FPR

exhaust and intake are still stock for now but i should be getting a larger MAF and a TTDA

even i have dual side mounted IC (stock ones) i still have some heat soaking problem (when outside temps are at 90-100F) but if its just a normal 70-80F day it runs pretty well

i think i am just gonna stick with the stock K04 which can run up to about 300hp or so.....i think that should be enuff :P

Damn thats a lot of psi. Mine used to be a little higher in the cold Ohio weather a few months ago but I have since moved to hot, balmy, humid south Florida and I seem to have lost some psi. I am running 93 oct.

But you have stock exhaust? I bet that TT would be an animal with catless 3" piping. Mmmmm, 22psi Audi - nice. Maybe you should upgrade the intercooler too?

After I upgrade I get rid of my TD04, we should have around the same power. YOu have a nice car
