hey guys for the past few weeks i've noticed that my coolant always seems to be leeking, esp afte ri shut my car off it seems to pour out of my engine bay...i've talked to my mechanic about it and he says that i need a new gasket for the cap of the coolant fluid holder. I've already bought this but now it seems that my coolant seems to be leaking more now. what should i do guys...anyone know whats wrong with my car? I also checked the hoses going to the radiator...doesn't seem to be any crakcing or leaking of anykind. Help me out guys. Thanks.

Your water pump must've said "PLEASE REPLACE ME NOW!!!".... :D ;) :)

IS there any signs that the waterpump is gonna break?

Definately sounds like the waterpump. It stops leaking or is burned off when your car is on. When you stop and the car cools coolant just pours out.

There is no warning! Actually coolant leaking is your only warning.

Ahh kewl..i hope i don't have to changemine.

I'm trying to figure out what this whirrring sound is. As the car moves faster, the whirring gets higher pitched.

That should be your waterpump. $80 on ebay, it'll cost you about 3-4 labor hour. :)

Whirring sound? could be water pump too. Maybe one of the pulleys is lose?

Your whirring sound has to do with electrical problems.

Mine occurs even if the radio is off.

Hehehe...your whirring sound and my whirring sound are 2 different problems. Yours electrical. i.e. speaker wires, alternator effects the speakers or soemthing.

Mines sounds more like a belt or soemthing but I have no clue. I know it's not electrical.

Try cleaning all your pulleys and belts. Try degreassing it.

Degreasing probably won't help. My bet is the coolant is causing the belts to slip or the pulley for the pump is gone.

I would say its your alternator.
