that's not an audi badge. It's came with the car mang..... do some research. No poser here........ one of the reasons why I haven't debadged the car... don't want people thinking I am fronting... :P <_< <_<

Thanks for the photoshop redline...... yah.... I told myself I would get around to swapping out the suspension last time I bought rims. Haven't had the time to be honest. Eventually though I will get around to it..... lol.... I am defineatly getting a 9.5 width for rears and 8 for front. The lip on rears is going to be 3.5 inches... I will miss my old rims though :(. Thanks again... I will post pics when I get them on.

KRK203: Go do some research before opening your mouth. it's called GOOOOGLE.
BadInfo: The pic is from a lower angle so it makes the already high vehicle look even higher... it does defineatly need a suspension drop though... no doubt.

My car was one of first C230K sedans which was introduction of the 1.8 motor.... prior there was only a C230K coupe which utilized the 2.3L motor. After the introduction, they started using 1.8 simultaneously in the coupes as well. I remember posting my pics on mbworld after i got the car and everyone commented on how the badge was there, something I hadn't noticed. Of course that was almost 3 years ago... I wonder if they dropped the badge with 4.5 change over.
Some other differences to be noted..... they changed the rims AND suspension on sport package starting from the 2004.5's and on. They dropped it by 1 inch which would have been nice to have earlier when I bought my car, so my shit wouldn't look like a damn jacked up 4x4. In addition there was the interior change but I didn't care about that....
You can do some research over at MBworld on w203 forum so some of you don't quabble like little b*tches. ;) Get your facts straight.

I am not some poser that wants to make a BRABUS car by using MOVENS for example, unlike some people ;).

Anyhow... thanks to those of you who were helpful :)

Bad INfo: I had to give the doc some shit ;). He jokes around more than anyone else so I think he can take the ribbing, especially when he started it ;).

Vodka: I don't know if they put them anymore on the new ones because a bunch of the guys in the w203 section on mbworld are talking about putting I4Kompressor Badges on the side....unless they are talking about taking down their 1.8 badges and replacing them with their "custom" ones. I think that's ghey but to each his own.

BigPete: So it's ok for other people to swing first? Respect is a two way street. 4 posts or 4000 posts it doesn't make a difference. If I was disrespectful to someone up front then they have a right to be dick 2 me. You just had to ask a question about the badge. I would have given you all the information. Unfortunately, some people got wound up and started accusing me of being a poser. How am I supposed to take that? Be fair and honest. Perhaps there was a better way for you guys to ask me or inquire. Last but not least I am not your homie. Wish I was in my early 20's again but unfortunately I am pushing 30.

krk230: I doubt it came from dealer that way since I bought it while it was on the ship during transport. It was defineatly stock since I remember other people posting their noobie pics back then and seeing the 1.8 badge on them as well..... please use search option there and see for yourself.

BrabusBenz: It's ok man... maybe you guys were just ribbing but if you guys are giving me flack like this after "4" posts then this isn't exactly a warm and fuzzy feeling is it? Can you see where I am coming from? Anyhow, I never honestly gave the badge a second thought... but we are cool. Look forward to getting to know you guys.

Redline: Thanks once again for PS'ing the pic for me. I will post pics when I get the rims on and suspension dropped from my current 4x4 status. lol. :).

Any more questions then please ask them in a civilized fashion and not with insults. Thanks guys......... looking forward to hopefully getting to know most of you!

4.5 Change over? I must be living under a rock, because I haven't seen a 4.5 since the 450SEL! jk I'm sure its a typo

However, I wouldn't be so confident coming on here with only 4 posts... Bnzsport is a tight nit community, and we value many of our members very highly. So coming on here (obviously from MBWorld) and calling people little bitches doesn't reflect too well on yourself.

I also have never seen the 1.8 badge on the C230k's. The pre-2004 C230's could be had with a Sports Package, but the changes to the external body work, wheels, and 2.5L motor dubbed it the Sports Sedan (from what I understand) in 2004.5.

Your quite welcome for the PS job :)

Bigpete123

Man, relax. You assumed everyone was calling you a poser before anybody even did. And Golden was just messing with you when he called you one later. All you needed to say was this:

"My car was one of first C230K sedans which was introduction of the 1.8 motor.... prior there was only a C230K coupe which utilized the 2.3L motor. After the introduction, they started using 1.8 simultaneously in the coupes as well..." etc etc.

You didn't need to use "little bitch" and demand people to "do their research". If you were meeting us face to face, you sure wouldn't be that rude (at least I hope). Nobody is trying to attack your ego. As Redline implied, most of us are regulars, and there really aren't a ton of active members on this forum. So we get to know eachother, and we treat eachother with respect (except Doc and Elvir, who don't really like each other very much). Sure, there's the occasional disagreement, but it's nothing like MBworld where members have huge, retarded internet fights, call eachother pussies and say that they could kick eachother's asses. That's just childish garbage.

You are welcome to be the bigger man when you feel like your being attacked, and just defuse things by making neutral, fact-based statements. We're happy to have you, but only if you're reasonably polite and respectful, especially when you don't know us or know anything about the culture on this forum.

PS- I was trying to be friendly when I called you homie, but again, you assumed I was attacking you or talking down to you and lashed out. Just chill out, man.

2004.5 change over is what i was referring to. Prior to that there was the C7 wheels and the different interior as well... plus more stuff I am probably forgetting about. The C230K sedan from 2003 was standard with sport package unlike previous year where i think it was an option on the C320. Once again, I can only talk in absolute facts about the C230K. 2002 did not have a C230K sedan.. just a coupe.
:) No problem.... I just want to make sure everything I state is clear.

I understand that your community is tight knit but I was the one first attacked. There is a civilized way for people to ask questions. I am very laid back and friendly but after you PS'd the car immediately it was followed up by a series of people accusing me and giving me flak rather than asking me "is that badge stock?" If you notice, my comment and usage of the word "b*tches" was a joke, thus followed by a wink. I was trying to get the members who were attacking me to lighten up, hoping everyone would take a step back and see how they were attacking me, all in my first thread without even knowing me. It is true that now i have a whopping 5 posts under my belt that I am still a noob. I just don't see that as giving the members the right to attack me and give me flak. I don't know of any other interpretation other than a "your not welcome here." My 2nd post was to someone in the audio forum who was needing help wiring a system in a 203. I have the wiring schematic and am willing to help him... does that mean I am the one trying to start drama? I mean it's not as if I asked a stupid question without using search option etc. If the members really want to brand me and judge me based on assumptions that my 1.8 badge is a poser add on then maybe that's a sign that they are trying to tell me to get out. I don't expect anyone to take sides here since many friendships have been made for sure. I am just asking you guys to lighten up and put yourself in my shoes.
Anyhow, I have said my piece. Once again redline, thanks for being kind enough to PS the pic... in most forums, people don't give a damn to take that kind of time out and help out another person so I truly appreciate it. Best of luck to everyone.

Bigpete123
12-02-2005, 01:42 PM
Fair enough. People do tend to be highly critical when others post pics of their cars. Again, you're welcome here. Just as you want people to give you the benefit of the doubt since you're new, you too should give people the benefit of the doubt and assume that they're not necessarily attacking you... Welcome to Bnzsport. :)

BigPete: Please... don't get into a internet fight with Elvir ;) Otherwise I will feel like I am back on the "other" forum ;). It's cool man... I wasn't trying to attack anyone either....... I have lurked on here enough to see that everyone is very friendly and helpful. I liked the vibe here. I didn't expect anything other than a cool bunch of cats here who are enthusiasts. So, it caught me off guard when everyone started poking and giving me flak is all... maybe I got defensive too quickly... so sorry about snapping about the homie. I actually detest posers since they can't be happy with the car they have.... so that's why I took it very personal something as silly as a badge.
Either way... I hope it's all water under the bridge. Looking forward to getting to know you guys, some of you I already know. I hope we can all laugh about the 1.8 badge incident down the road :)

back to the actual topic at hand. You guys think it looks good? Or should I keep looking around for a rim with a silver or black finish? My only concern is that the hyperblack or whatever they call it will not look good. Remember... my C230K doesn't come with the AMG brakes like the 2004.5 and on's do. I don't want to be the ghey one with an empty void of space behind rims. Input?

The empty brake space doesn't really matter all that much. It's not a Porsche.
The "hyperblack" will look good if your car is black. I can't see in that pic if it's black or blue. Stay with silver if it's blue.

personally i think they look cheap, and i dont know if you seen them in person or not, but the way the spokes are layed out, they stick out too much and cover the lip area. IMO i would get either genuine wheels made specifically for mercedes(brabus/amg,renntech,wald..etc.etc.) or replica, there is nothing wrong with those..same looking wheels for cheap price...makes the car more unique.personally, ive seen those tsw wheels on hondas, VW, BMW, and even lexus.

It's a black car. I think the light reflecting off my 1.8 badge throws the color of car off though ;). Had to get a final joke in.

What about these rims..... I was originally tied between the thruxtons and these. The guys I used to ride with all told me it was too plain and to go with the thruxtons in hyperblack. I really like these too ... I think they would have looked great on my last audi but not sure on the mb.

http://www.tsw.com/new/images/wheels/nogaro_sil_reg.jpg

Elvir: I do have to admit that they overstate the actual lip because those spokes do appear to extend quite far. haven't actually seen the rims in person..... I live in the middle of nowhere. I had to drive 2 hours to get to a reputable wheel repair shop last week so that should give you an idea how bad it is. I don't wanna go with a MB tuner rim because it's been done so many times. No offense to those who have them... it's cool but I would like to do something different. My old evo5 rims were cool like that... I had only seem them on a few SUV's and only on one CLK convertible in the past 2 years.

If you guys have a suggestion it would be great. I have to order wheels and tires on monday.......

as a mercedes owner i would stay away from TSW, in general. 1. Mercedes is too classy for such wheels, 2. if you plan on getting 19s you might want to be more careful with them, cause the are on the softer side, they dont call the TSW=TheSoftWheels for nothing.hehe.anyway, but that is just my opinion..there are still other brands out there
EDIT: now that i think about it, those wheels dont look half bad.(the one above)

No 19's for me. Sticking with 18's. I was running a staggered 8/9 setup so I would be happy doing the same with the new set. I am afraid I am not "baller pimp" like some of you cats... the 19's just wouldn't mesh well with the baby seat I will have permanently fixed in the rear seat as of the end of this month for my nephew. Maybe I am getting too old.... See elvir.. those rims have potential.. they grow on you. Can someone photoshop this last rim onto the car?
Thanks.

I'm guessing you're pretty set on the 5 spoke look? If you're wanting to stay on the cheaper side of things I'd suggest looking @ HP evo wheels. Fat lip and you can get it in a staggered 18x8,18x9 set up. They have silver, hyper black, and black center options which would all look pretty good IMO. You can find them at woodandwheels.net. Some aren't a fan of the mesh style wheels-I know I wasn't for the longest time.

IMO if your going to go thin spoke, go multi-spoke. And if your set on a 5 spoke design, go for thicker spokes.

BrabusBenz: I don't have a preference for 5 spokes... it just so happened that my last ones were 5spokes but I am not set on it. If they weren't discontinued, I would just pick up another set and not sweat it. Those HP Design rims look good.....
I liked this even though I have never been a fan of these mesh style wheels....

The mesh ones look pretty nice. Not a big fan of the open 5-spokers unless you've got some beefy rotors/calipers to back it up, but that's just my opinion. A Carlsson 1/5 is probably a sweet look for you if you want to stick with the 5-spokes. The mesh would look sweet in a staggered setup with some wide, righteous meats in the rear. The M3-look is a no-go for me.
