NEWBIE.. MY 500SL WALD KITTED

Hey everyone,

Im new too the board, just thought id post of a pic of my recently ordered R129. She is being shipped from Japan. Full wald kit, updated headlights and tail lights. 19" Wald Dex wheels, Wald suspension etc etc. I cant wait for it to arrive.

I still don't get the interest in Wald. They use an upsidedown AMG logo and make things out of fibreglass.....

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe it just looks like that because its in the shade. Beautiful car nonetheless :D :D

If I ever own a R129, the only aftermarket kit I am going to even considered is WALD.. :werd: (2 thumbs up).


Perhaps getting a hardtop in order make it look like a sleeek coupe. I never like a soft convertible top on any car.. ;)

He's gonna be dropping the top all summer long, especially in Vancouver, where the ladies are smokin' hot!!!

Yes, There are 5 1990 R129s for sale in Van and they are all over $20,000.. and they all have MUCH higher mileage then this one. I paid 1,100,000 yen for this which is just under $11,000 CND+ shipping and tax it should be around $13,000CND. Then you must take into account that the Wald kit alone is over $5000 ( i looked around online).

I see. Now do you have to pay Japanese taxes and Canadian taxes as well? Or just the latter? What about meeting Canadian emission standards? Is there anything you have to do to the car to meet them? Where is the car from originally? I noticed it's LHD and the speedometer is in mph.

theres a small Japanese export fee, Any car 15 years or older is very easy to import into Canada.. just need the original bill of sale, registration etc. And yes the car was originally imported from the U.S to Japan.. only 43,000 miles :):):)

wow, then it really is a steal...13,000CAD out-the-door (~11,300USD) is pretty good for a 500SL with 43K miles and all those mods.
