Okay I think everyone saw a pic of my wheels, if not maybe Brabus or Doc would be kind enough to post them here again :)

So I have this "situation". My 2 front wheels have very very tiny chips on them (one on each wheel) and I am thinking about returning them to have Iforged repair them.

Here is the problem/situation: I don't want to wait forever to get them fixed, seeing how it took Iforged 4 months to deliver these.

Iforged told me it shouldn't take more then a week to fix the wheels. But they also told me when I ordered the wheels it would only take 2 weeks, and it took 4 months.

My boyfriend says just keep the wheels and that you can't even see the chips, and I am being picky.

What do you guys think? What would you do?

Everyone who posted on the other lost thread please repost here. Thanx

I guess it really depends on seeing the pics. Depending on how small the imperfection I would just keep the wheels. With my luck the first time I drove the car I would get rock chips in them so no need in being a perfectionist. On the other hand, you did wait a long time to have them right, so if you can wait a little while longer why not get perfection.

oh that is nothing.........You cannot even notice that..i was looking at the picture for some time before i even realized what the problem was....I would not stress waiting 4 more months to get the wheels back...cause look at the BRUTAL reality....something will happen to them eventually..so what are you going to do then...take them back for aditional 4 months....NO! Wheels get damaged...that is just the way it is...just smack them on and enjoy them....but dont forget to post some pictures..cause i am eaager to see them

Yeah my boyfriend said the same thing too. I am toying with the idea of keeping them because I do know eventually the will get some type of damage and then I will have to take them in to a local repair shop and have them fixed, might as well wait...I guess

Keep in Shanta

Although you know that there is some imperfection on the whees.

But they are barely noticeable.

you have to squint really realy hard to find it...

It's not worth the wait and hassle if you return them (imho ;) )

Get them to foot the repair bill and take it to a good local shop to have it done - no use waiting for shipping and then for them to fix it and ship it back.

And that is not "nothing" - when you drop a few grand on a set of custom-made wheels, you have the right for them to be perfect.

No prob - Shanta - I concur with the others in saying that I can't wait to see them on the car! :D

Yeah I already contacted them asking them to foot the repair bill from a local shop. I am awaiting their response.

I would really like them to be perfect but after doing some reading up on Iforged, I should be happy that I got my wheels with only these minor blemishes

Those blemishes are about 1/20 of the figernail that is showing where the damage is...i cannot believe you even spoted that

Anything that I pay money for, I go over with a fine tooth comb. I am blessed with a very good eye. Sometimes it can be a pain though...;)

Considering that you paid cash, and the bad stories posted, I would not send them back. I would ask for a partial refund in order to have a shop repair them...(if you just can't live without the chips) I understand your point of view though. When you pay that much money you want your product to reflect the price tag, ya know? Please don't send them back, I have a bad feeling you won't see them for a LONG time.....and then you never know about shipping them again, which is another opportunity for damage. Slap some tires on those babies and just ride!

Shanta; I'm just as picky as you when it comes to things for my car. IMO it's way to small to notice and is not worth the wait/shipping/etc. I've had worst small nicks from people mounting and unmounting my rims at a shop. Not to mention the ones you'll get from road use.

Yeah don't sweat it! If you send them back they may come back painted:rolleyes:
"Oops we thought thats why you sent them back"

Try and get some money back and thats it:)

Yea just demand a discount, but don't send them back. Those are gorgeous rims the way they are, and like you said, eventually they will have some minor damage. Not worth the wait IMO, keep them, ask for a discount, put them on and take pics!:D

I hate your wheels SHANTA!!!! :D However have you thought about the shop that will mount your tires on those wheels?
And for me they don't look like a scratch but really kindna deep chip on the lip. You paid so much for those and end up with some tiny chip on a lip? Another thing I noticed the way they packed the wheels w/o any protection at all inside. Regardless who the courier is they really don't care what's inside the box.
I would return them to IFORGED and let them fix it or you might want to bring it to wheel works here in San Leandro to see if they can do something about it. Honestly those are gorgeous and you really got the taste... ;) but I still hate you....... :D ;) :)

It's all good Jun! If you think you hate me now what till I mount these and drive by your neck of the hoods :D

Yeah that is a chip not a scratch. I am still toying with sending them to Iforged but as you see the packaging isn't really good. I fear them getting there or coming back with more damage then what I already have. All Iforged did was put some plastic wrap around the lip and a piece of cardboard over the rim that is it. They must make money off of UPS damage claims.

I am trying to get Iforged pay for a local repair, that way I don't have to send them back, or they can give me a discount. They still haven't answer my voicemail and email.

The shop that I am getting my tires from is Wheel Works In Walnut Creek. They have 2 different tires sizes for me (front & rear) to try out, all I need to do is show up. They keep S03's in stock, especially in the sizes I want.

Ok i also heard that someone sent his wheels back to iforged and didnt get them back for months..so months to get the rims and months to have them fixed. I would keep them knowing that iforged has a huge list of rims being made for new customers, it would take a while before you got them back. Just call and ask for a discount like others said. it would be the most reasonable thing to do.

You know me.

(RENNTECHNIK Speed-Mount, anyone?)

I would DEMAND that iForged repair them, IMMEDIATELY (IF NOT SOONER), extend you a 10%
discount for your inconvenience, and lick your boots clean.

For all the shite you went through, to compromise is a NO-GO.

Edit: If it makes you feel any better, a $%^&ING valet SCRATCHED THE PAINT on my front valance, last night!!!
