One more from my previous Xterra shoot. I'm trying to achieve an earthy, desaturated look, in an attempt to copy http://www.dananeibert.com/portfolio/portfolio.html 's stuff :)

So nice - looks like Nissan should call you and have you do some of their print ads!
All you have to do is put a "Shift_2.0" on the bottom of that picture!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback!
Currently, I'm shooting with a Canon 10D and the following lenses:
-18-55 EF-S f/4-5.6 (modded ( :p ) to clear the 10D's mirror
-70-200 F/4 L
-50mm F/1.8
Nothing too special, the 70-200 is a nice piece of glass. I also just ordered a Singh-Ray reverse GND filter, and I'm looking to setup a nice flash system soon. So far, I've bought all of my gear used, and have saved a buch of money. So if you are looking to move up into the DSLR market, check out that option!
As for the desaturated look, I've been experimenting with some processing techniques in photoshop. Hopefully I'll start posting some tutorials for ya'all! Until then, heres one more shot of my 'loaner' Xterra :D

i love the 50mm 1.8 it is the best 50 bucks you can spend in all of photography:) great to learn with.
how do you care for the 18-55? i get way more use out of it than i had expected. I think i can hold off on a medium priced and ranged telephoto for a bit:lub:.
also check these guys out http://www.choppedliver.info/flash.html

Sorbo- I agree on the 50mm, although I don't use primes much, its as sharp as my 70-200 f/4 L!
I actually really like the 18-55. Its not fast though, and it does vignette and distort at 18mm. Eventually, I'd like to get something a bit better to replace it. I've heard that the Sigma 12-24 is a great lens. Although I'm hesitant to go away from Canon glass. If our cameras didn't have cropped sensors, then we wouldn't have this problem in the first place :p Stupid Canon!!!
