Besides paying for the cost of the car via a loan - would you go into Credit Card Debt or take out a loan to mod your car?

sometimes you have to pay with credit card, online, but other than that, i wouldn't. just my personal opinion.

NEVER..IMHO...that is the most stupid thing a person can do!!!
EDIT: Although i love my car, very much, its still not my #1 priority....Id rather spend my money on needed things, if needed

Yeah I know that, I was meaning would you end up taking 6 months and paying crazy interest to finance your mod. I do not consider using a CC as going in debt, if you pay off your balance in full - in fact it is smarter cash management many times ;)

Pay cash for everything.
Being in debt for fcuking mods is just DUMB.
Yup, pay only in cash. (or cashier's check)

:werd: The only reasons to use a CC are to earn points and preserve liquidity. And you have to be sure to pay it off each month, even if that means eating ramen for a couple of days.

Yes, I do charge all my mods... but I don't pay the high interest rates... gotta be smart and not get sucked in!

I personally don't believe using a credit card just to mod your car.
I usually pay in cash or no modding at all. But in the event that I really need that particular item then I go to Auto Plus and get it from them coz I got my own personal account there payable whenever without any interest. :P :D ;)

cash or debit as much as i can. and if i charge i only charge as much as i can with the mindset of "do i have enough in cash to pay for this"

an intersting view has come out. people stated they wouldn't go into debt for mods, but what about other things? certain purchases are absolutely neccessary. rent/mortage, food, etc, but are people saying that they would go into debt for other vices?

mod when you had the money for it .....
not wise getting into debt just modding car...
car is not everything....so much more important stuff in life other than car.. :)
I know car is a crazy hobby, and a never ending one (once you start there is no turning back).. :D
use your own judgement wisely....
I too use CC to pay for evertyhing to accumulate point rewards..but I always paid in full when its' due.. (I never have to pay any finance charges)..

If I can't afford a desired mod, I just spend my idle time trying to find a better price on the desired item ....
.... maybe that is why I have so many links for shops in my favorites list .... modding never ends :D .

I just use my credit card so that I have a good credit history, and when I need to borrow money the bank can see that I have good credit... and points are always good too

I am seriously considering buying something from the US for my car to take advantage of the dollar :D But, I have to make a few more calls and then I'll make my decision ;)
So, Yes. I would get into debt to mod my car - but only by a 'little' bit :P
