Well I think I saw my first Evo yesterday. I was at a light when two lanes over this white Lancer with huge wing pulls up. It had the Evo wheels and a bodykit. I thought it was another "fake" but when the light turned green the driver put the hammer down and was gone!
Most impressive!
I suppose cars will keep getting faster and cheaper from now on.

Yes they are certainly quick. My friend got one of the first EVOs here in California. Took me for a ride. It's pretty quick.
those things are little pocket rockets.....defenitley fun to drive and and a lot of performance for the $$$

My father promised me the CLK when I graduate. To tell you guy the truth, I actually want a Lancer Evo.

I'd go STi instead b/c of it.

EVO is ugly IMO.

EVO's might be fast, good looking (though it loks like a pontiac sunfire from the front) but the car feels like it's a Civic. It's kinda scary to go that fast and don;t have the piece of mind that if anything happends, the car can actually protect you.
Here's a thought, wouldn't the car's engine be a bit too powerful for the chassis it sits on?

no it's a really tight chassis.
well it's not "protected" as a MB or volvo if that was the way you meant it, but the chassis of the evo is really rigid.
The base is the same for the small lancer, altough the lancer is was underpowered for that chassis

From my experience w/ my buddies EVO..........(Something the auto magazines never mention) is the fact that if the car is not moving the A/C blows lukewarm air inside the cabin - a product of the huge ass intercooler mounted in front of the a/c condensor & radiator! It did it on both EVO's he has owned so we know it is a fact not a 'problem'. Kinda sucks sitting at a long light after it has been sitting in a parking lot for 3 hours & your trying to cool off!
Gotta love that impersonal factory 'group-n' rally engineering!!
STI's dont do that but its downside is - NO RADIO!!! haha Get out the credit card for a system install I guess???
