mmmm.

Ok check your oil when the car is cold ie. when you haven't driven it for a few hours, like in the morning, and verify the level.

Since you were going uphill, maybe the oil was...well..shoot... I dont think it's like w/ gasoline tanks, where i'd just go in the back and trigger the sensor.

I dunno. Just keep an eye on your oil level often!

i checked the oil early this morning...and since i put about 3/4 of the new oil in it now there is a bit more than half when checking the oil...so i have enough..so i dont know what it could be...when i was coming home this morning, the light did not go off..

THAT'LL DO IT if your engine oil is at 'border line' low

just check often and i think oil lamp/sensor rarely goes 'bad'

I doubt it. The oil pan should have baffles to prevent this kinda thing. Plus the engien has an oil return line that pumps oil up to the top of the engine it hink.

There are several things that can cause the Oil light to come on. At least 96+ years.

1) Oil pump. Oil pressure is dropping

2) Oil Sensor. Oil sensor might be bad, or the temp of Oil exceed

3) Low on Oil.

4) too much oil

5) Some of the newer mecedes has the ability to sense the quality of the oil. If the sensors sees it being "dirty" oil light will come on.

There might be a few things I have forgotten....if I do recall more, I'll repost.

On Turbo... the oil light goes on and off occasionally depending on the conditions. That means you're the the borderline level and should add a bit more.
