OEM is always better offcourse, but i have aftermarket fenders because i could not find any W126 fenders in good condt. and the dealer wanted 400+$ for new ones:rolleyes:
How do they look like.. Do you have to paint the entire car to get it to match the car or how did you go about doing this.. because my car is black (from factory when originally bought) but the fender is primer black? I think primer black is not shiny etc.?? or is it?
Also, was it a perfect fit or did you have to do some extra work to get it fitted right..

i took the car to a well known mercedes specialising body shop and they painted half of the front doors so the fenders would match the color of the car
.....the taiwan made aftermarket fenders took some extra work but they said it was not too bad, they where shiny black when i bought them but it was not regular primer i think...
the total cost was about $550.

While it is ultimately your decision, I can only share my experience. I had aftermarket fenders ordered one time for my old MK I GTI - took a lot of work to line them up, there was still a gap between the fender and the front door lagrer then the original one...
The guy who is selling them says:
"It is a perfect fit. It is just like a stock fender."
I made sure to ask him but can I trust this?

what aftermarket company was it? Do you know the name of the Taiwanese company who made it? It would be really appreciated if you could pass on the info.
Thanks!:D

They'll always says that it lines up perfectly...but that might mean after you cut it, mold it, reshape it, throw it away and then buy an OEM fender.
General rule of thumb. If you don't know what you're talking about or getting yourself into; you better get it done professionally and get it done right the first time.
OEM metal... no aftermarket fiberglass.
