Help please! My car (1990 300E 12V) has been having overheating issues and I think the culprit is a sticking aux fan...that problem has been temporarily solved by blasting the heat a bit to bring temp down.. but today, as I was at the lights waiting to turn left, heat on, I noticed that the signal lights weren't ticking, then my abs light came on a bit and radio shut off....as soon as I turned the heat off, everything was fine....does anyone know what the prob is???

thanks in advance :(

I also recommend buying + installing (either from RENNtech or making your own kits):

- engine oil intercooler
- tranny oil intercooler

Scott, how much did the two intercoolers run you installed? I have something wrong with my aux fans that needs to be fixed before I mod anything...thanks for your help..

Check your Aux. fan relays.

I don't know where they are on the W124. However, they are probably on top of the wheel wells in the engine bay. They should be under a black box.

'stuck' - do you mean that your aux fans wouldnt budge even if you try to spin 'em by hand?

That means u need to take them out and u might be able to save the aux fans by replacing the offending parts (bearing usually)

Is the thermostat working fine? To check you could feel the hoses above and below the hose. Is the lower one hot too?

MB t-stats fail in a semi-open position though...
