Had a good day at work, stopped by Lowe’s, you know, to improve the home improvement, as I’m walking toward the store, I see a very nice looking 190, so I had to make a detour – I always had a soft spot for W201, but this one was done just the way I would have liked to have mine to be…

Sport edition, black with black/red piping interior, de-badged, blacked out MB star on the trunk, blacked out grill frame (looked like Schatz, slanted without the top emblem hole) and black grill, nice flawless clear cornel lenses with euro headlamps, looked like someone chromed out the inside of the units, smoked tail lenses… Lowered, and I mean LOWERED, but had correct chamber from the looks of it, multi-piece 17” similar to Dr. AMG’s – all in all – droooooool, a very nice and tastefully done, definitely stands out from the crowded parking lot!!!

The benz had dealer’s plates, so I stood there for about 10 minutes admiring the car, smoked 2 cigarettes, hoping that the owner would come out – really wanted to know if it is for sale, went inside for 2 minutes, turned around – the car is gone :( Oh well, was not meant to be I guess…

Driving home, I took a winding scenic road that goes along the side the river, fun and beautiful drive… Right in front of me – dark cherry BMW M3, 2000+ model, but it looked a little different from the rear, the rear glass just did not look like the stock 2 or 4dr M cars, finally we are on the 2 lane road, and the car is a convertible, but has a hardtop – I’ve seen those in the pictures, just not in the real life. Very very attractive auto, and the hard top looks pimp on that car!!!

It is for the moments like this I really neeeeeeeeeeed to have a little digital camera! Any suggestions on something that really small (I have FD 97, just too bulky to keep in the car), around $40 – $60, something I could just keep in the glove box? Any suggestions and where to buy are really appreciated.

Regards,
Dmitry

You could get a cell phone with a camera but the quality would really suck. I agree sometimes I wanna have a camera in the car for these nice cars!

I did the same a week ago when I saw a 500E! The thing had 44k mi. and it was so gorgeous with its wide fenders and stock 16" rims :D

Too bad it had DOT headlights. I waited for a bit, admired the car, and some kid in an M3 thought I was nuts looking at the old car. Whatever..

waited and waited. but same as you when I got back out it was already gone.

I parked just behind him and funny that he had the same license plate frame (as in he bought the car from the same dealer). Don't think he noticed my ... dime a dozen.. E420 though

Hehehe, I've done something similar - at some fancy restaurant in Cape Town they have valet parking, and a gleaming red Ferrari F355 was parked outside. The proud owner was hanging around his car (or he pretended it was his), chatting to a few drooling bystanders when I came running up "What a coooool car!!!"
He turned to face me, but I ran right past him and his poser's pouch, towards the shortwheel-base V8 Land-Rover Defender parked behind his Ferrari.
MAN, that thing was cool. Dark maroon metallic, chromed brushguard, chromed siderunners, chromed rollbar, spots EVERYWHERE, 33inch tyres, etc.
Ferrari Man was not impressed. :D
