Autorice Investigation [Archive] - BNZsport

Since I kind of was responsable for starting this thread, I feel obligated to writre a follow up.

As stated before: I sold autorice a set of 203 bi xenon lights (later offered on ebay.com by autorice/Jaime) and 203 taillights...we discussed about the price and shipping costs after which he asked me to ship the parcel per HIS UPS account since that would be cheaper then my FedEx account...

The parts were send and received...months later I get a bill from UPS for shipping this parcel...240 euro's...so I called UPS and they said that the receiver (owner of the used UPS accountnumber) refused to pay for shipping costs.

Jaime replied per this thread that they had paid for shipping costs per credit card (from a relative - not his own since he was not home at the time that the parcel was delivered).
He also daid that they had to pay for the parcel otherwise UPS would not deliver it (never had that issue with FedEx but it is possible that UPS works like that).

Thinking that UPS was charging us twice, I called back to UPS and have been on the phone with them for almost 40 minutes (what a waste of precious time) after which I got a set of dates and amounts of money concerning the whole history of this 1 parcel.
Unfortunately I left the details (dates and amounts) back home but basically UPS had the folowing information:

The delivered parcel was paid for per credit card...shipping and custom costs.
The receiver made a complaint about the shipping costs and the credit card holder rejected actual payment.
UPS cashed back the amount of money for shipping but kep the paid amount of mony for custom charges.

UPS got stuck with non paid shippingcosts of 240 euro and charged those to me...by now this has to be paid within 5 days...

Jaime, I hope you are professional enough to clear this up and sort this out from your side...for me it is just another expensive lesson learned :mad: .

As a neutral party to all of this (no dealings with Autorice), I would think it's time for him to step up to the microphone again. I've noticed that there are posts in other MB boards stating that there is an "investigation" underway here concerning Autorice. Hope things work out for all parties, we need more reputable suppliers of parts and accessories for our vehicles, not less.

Thats some really shady business if Autorice made some mistakes, just fess up and aplogize and either refund it or give them discounts this definitaly not a way to run a business. Dont go run and hide and hope that things get resolve by themselves.

Good lucks to those who bought from him hopefully everything gets resolve soon and everybodys happy. I really hate seeing people getting ripped off.

i won an ebay auction with autorice once. Got me worried for a long time. after winning and paying i hear nothing from them. no replies emails nothing. i was just hoping i'll get my spoiler..didnt know if i got ripped off or not. took at over a month to get it. it finally came and it was as described. sometimes i wouldn't mind a wait but they should at the very least let me know whats going on. after that time i never thought about buyin from autorice again.

Just found out that freightquote (the shipping company) dosnt know about autorice and dosent do business with that them. and the tracking numbers that i was given dont even go to california.....

im going to get my leagel staff on this matter very shortly. if you have had any problems or have problems with autorice please make sure to post so i can inform them about the other incondents.

Man you guys are giving this guy a massive hard time, Like I said before small net companies have badd customer service due to lack of office help. You guys gotta know that..
With low overhead they can offer cheap discounts..
In the end you get what you pay for.

IMO they got a deal.
$750 usd for a whole kit including s&h, didn't have to pay a CENT for taxes. sure it took a long time, that's my fault. It's arriving tomorow so that's that.

so let me get this straight . . . autorice can't fulfill his orders in a timely fashion and can't seem to keep track of shipping, which leads to customer complaints, which leads to him getting e-mails and calls . . . SO the response is to yank sponsorship from bnzsport . . . for what? to punish bnzsport and its members? what am I missing here?

QUIT BLAMMING on other, it is your own promise that you made and it is your own customer that you're dealing with.

What's up with you and taking up to BNZSPORT.

It's one of your customer who brought it up in the first place, not us the mods..

We are trying to cool down the situation by being the brige/peacemaker between you and the customer..

Technically the mod are not responsible with any deal made b/w members and the sponsor. As we have a good initiative of helping the member and the sponsor to resolve any dispute.
We were willing to do so..!!!!!

Sure you had a lot of email to respond...

You failed to respond in timely manner that alone should make you think about getting some education in PR and customer service....

If the delivery was delayed, then have the gut to face the customer and tell them so..
don't hide behind the shadow and wait for the situation to heat..up it can only get worst..

now that situation really heats up you trying to put the blame on other except you..

GROW up will ya..

And what next, you sponsor other forum (i.e mbworld, benzworld) then you get the same thing happened again, and you going to blame them as well..

Again this started by one of your customer as a result of a DISSAPPOINTMENT on the way you handle the situation.

I agree it's not easy to run small business to begin with, especially when you have a lot of order to fulfil..

But it still doesn't give you any excuses not to provide any reply..;

If the shipment is going to be late, then SAY SO..

I personally don't have a problem with you running your own business, its your attitude that you need to work on..

I sincerely hope that the site will continue to aggresively and proactively continue to aide in achieving a full resolve with all peeps that have an open issue with this subject- -

Let's all note that strategically it was a wise decision for that business to depart suddenly, swiftly, and entirely.......this action effectively absolves it from having to provide full disclosure and eventually return $ if peeps decide they wish to cancell the sale for a full refund prior to delivery- - bravo! great move: take the money and run!

(if you were a chess player- - this move would have been anticipated far ahead in advance....- a lesson learned)

I encourage those whom have suffered losses to continue to enforce your rights, remedies, penalities, and enforcement afforded by prevailing law(s).

At the very least, after court action and judgement, the person's credit report will hold a nice shiny bold black mark on it (business and personal credit reports) to remind them of your parents $ and your funny looking faces

there is a consensus that .....the site shares a moral and business responsibility in ensuring proper business ethics, standards, and practices is conducted - - especially from site sponsors- - (reference Better Business Bureau site for the feel good guidelines)

Although there is no contractual obligation of this site to go beyond anything they do technically that I'm aware if....we're merely referring to the "right thing to do"

naturally we respect MTI & the opinion expressed- no worries- at that level this opinion makes perfect sense

....however if a true partnership is formed
>with sponsorship money exchanged for advertising space
>with premimum members paying for services from the site
> with members supporting autofest and gtg's with $ out of their own pocket and time out of their lives...
> with members supporting sponsors goods and services
>with the community supporting each other

...you'll get the overall vision that there is a closed system here and that we all are going to have to play fair and by the rules...(or live in a den of thieves)

...you also see that funny looking person's "parent's buck" is the same buck that is spent at the sponsor, and the sponsor spends it on advertising on the site,and the $$$ go round and round....

perhaps a moral and business ethics commonality can now be understood by all here ...and we may avoid digressing to the moral low-ground discussions of "not their responsibility"?

Clearly birds of a feather flock together, and in this case the transactions of each business partner in reality reflect upon the good reputation of each another.....herein lies another , "its the right thing to do" moment...

I urge the administration here to step up and voice how they will manage this matter or come out and say what they do not plan to do.

If, in fact, they do not want to be held accountable- or don't wish to be bothered further- - let's hear it and that will be the official :werd:

This is clear; the site will act in one of three ways:
(1) no action - which effectively supports autovise and a caveat emptor philosophy
(2) limited action- which gives the impression of being neutral- but in fact indicates an unwillingness to influence or enforce any standards of business ethics or conduct
(3) full action- to use its influence to enforce proper business ethics between sponsors and the community (after all the site represents the community and visa versa too)

In either case, all this fuss may actually be old news......and perhaps crying over spilled milk....altoverse is gone now...good luck getting anything out of autovese - - it has no reputation here except one that it has made for itself (not a great one) and the writing is on the wall

As far as BNZSport being "responsible" for all its sponsors transactions, HOGWASH! I loved the comment about the Ginsu knives ... very appropriate.

I feel very bad for anybody who loses money in a bad business transaction, but this site has a "responsibility" to everyone involved to be fair and impartial IMHO. If Autorice violates any of the site rules, he will be banned just like anyone else.

Once again, I am personally sorry for anyone who got burned in any of these transactions. We do our best, and put our asses on the line here, letting this thread go this far, for the benifit of everyone involved.

This in no way reflects the official opinion of this site. I cannot speak to that as it is not my place. This is simply, as J Irwan stated, just my own opinion.

Since you paid with a credit card in the first place, you should have all needed information to settle this thing with UPS. I was able to give you the tracking number before, but now that I am in the US again, I do not have the tracking number available (unfortunately)...you ashked for the tracking number 2 days too late (when I arrived in NY). Since you were able to give me payment info at first, I suppose you have been talking with UPS before and that the tracking number was not an issue.

According to UPS everything IS paid concerning this shipment...sure...we paid the last 240 euro ourselves...and therefore it IS settled.

Besides these 240 missing euro's, I am still missing an airbag for which I refunded you MORE then you paid me (I don't like to refund less then what someone paid for when delivery time has been screwed up by customs), but I haven't received my airbag back yet.

This leaves me with a 240 euro loss on autorice shipping and 175USD loss on an autorice delivered airbag...

i hate to suggest stooping to his level but,maybe some folks could get back at him by reading his m.b.shop request for parts and then 'forgetting' to ship or 'order' them.

he's very lucky nobody has whipped his asss!!

Maybe we should warn everyone on his website about this and maybe he will get it ou to...Sounds immature, but im sure he would be pissed seeing "scammer" spammed on his website :confused:

This kid is not a business...Working from home, no license etcc is not a business....Does not even have contact information on his website. P.O BOX does not cutt neither.

If he does not send you out the parts, i have friends who are hackers and can take his website down :werd: I'm sure we can all play his little immature games if he keeps playing them. Maybe call his daddy and tell on him...dunno :D

keep this thread on track. this thread is for talking about autorice and possible problems you may or may not have had with them. you can also report possitive experiences if you've had them. don't get into personal squabbles. this thread is more serious than that and shouldn't be brought down to that level. and hacking someone's site, thats just plain rediculous if you ask me. personally i think by this point his reputation has been demolished by now. but thats my personal opinion on this matter, not my moderator's opinion, just my stupid VW driver's opinion.

You get what you pay for and I think its the ppls fault for ordering from Auto Rice. Its not his fault. Yeah he sux at business for sure, but its the online penny pinching deal mongers who get it in the end.

I agree! I always shipped Steve money or whatever he asked for as quickly as I could and would gladly go out of my way to do it. I am grateful to be able to get European stuff ... at all.

OK...IMHO this is getting WAY out of hand.

In a nutshell, Autorice didn't deliver in a couple of cases and pissed some people off. not to downplay it or to come across as not caring about it, but for crying out loud, hasn't ANYone heard fo the phrase "buyer beware"? (Caveat emptor if you want it in latin)

It doesn't make what happened right, but by the same token you did put yourself in that position by making an online deal with someone you've never met. It's one thing to buy from the website of a reputable company with branches all over the place, it's quite another to buy from someone who works out of their basement.

I can sympathize with those that have been hard done by. I've been screwed over on online auctions too. But dragging this on isn't going to help. I'm pretty sure everyone who is in the least connected to bnzsport knows of the issue and if people are going to continue to buy stuff from Autorice, that's both their perogative and their risk.

I'm not trying to defend Jamie. I've only met him a couple of times and I've never bought anything from him. I don't know if he intentionally screwed anyone over, but it certainly appears that he welched on some deals. (Note: I said it appears to ne the case. I don't know if he did or not and am not offering an opinion.)

If you guys want to post a thread to express concern or present the facts, that's fine, but we're beating a dead horse now. What's hacking his site going to solve? Two stupids do NOT make a smart. :rolleyes: You also need to be mindful of what you say because you don't want to get into a situation where you're slandering someone or making libelous comments. :confused:

In this situation it's fine to have an opinion, however I think the issue is best dealt with if we all just stick to the facts and leave the editorials out of it. Editorializing will do nothing to resolve the issue. Besides, Autorice has been suspended as a sponsor and claims to no longer visiting this board. And his business has no doubt already suffered from the negative publicity. What more is there to gain?

Well my car has been in the body shop. I finally did receive my kit from autorice but one small problem; they are about 2 feet longer and about a foot to short. These kits are a piece of S@$t. There is no way that these kits can go on the car. Autorice assured me that these were plastic kits, and what do you know their fiberglass. Sure they might look like a c36 kit but they sure as hell don’t belong on any W202. I think they might work as an add-on lip for my F250. This is so ridicules and I hate having to inform all bnzsport members of the situation. I know he is no longer affiliated with Bnzsport but the people must know. I’ve called him and he tells me to call him later. Well ive given up hope on this kit and now looking for something quick. If anyone has anything please e-mail me.

One more thing, the side skirts arnt even the same size. I didn’t know that w202 were built like that.

I anyone has a home address for Jamie please inform me of it.
