Bad News!!!!

The 500E engine i got have low compression on 5 cylinder i was told by the mechanic. I am already at $3000 expense. What should i do?
-Buy a remanufactured 300E engine for $6000(4/48000 warranty)
-Spend $3000 to fix the 500E engine
-Wait for HPS to come with a supercharger in 2000 never :) ?
-Rebuild the engine from top to bottom and spend $4000 on body mods?
-Sell my 500E engine for $2000 as is($500 +$1500 for removal and crating plus my mechanic labor)
-Which i never started this project?
-Give Up?
-Keep going with in mind that this will be the first of its kind?

Note:Those who are trying to sell me their car i am not interested unless it is a 300E with a V8 engine or supercharger

i'd love to see you complete this project but I think it's going to be too much money. If you only have $7,000 it won't be enough to do what you have planned for this car. I started with a complete 300E and I have spent about $8,000 without touching the engine.

I'd throw the eninge on a stand, flip it upside down and pull the internal out that way, have it mic'ed to see if the block need to be over boared.

I'd rebuild the 500E and go on with the project. Screw a warranty ;)

Just get this one. It has engine, tranny, computers and the airbox.

I understand your concerns, but perhaps so of our LA peeps would help you out and check this guy out in advance.

Maybe someone can go to his location and inspect the items to make sure they are the real deal.

What is causing low compression in 5 out of 8 cylinders? Is it just bad head gaskets or a few serious things causing this?
