Just in case anyone interested... I found this on ebay. :) Supposedly a supercharger for a 320?

maybe that guy on mbworld claiming to have a "kleemann turbo" needs to jump on this. lol:stupid:

It will push one BAR(14.7 pounds) no problems, but you just can't throw it on top of a 3.2L without lowering the stock compression and you'll need the intake manifold that mates up to the SC unit.

Opps, the intake manifold is built into the SC unit(NICE), but are the heads the same on the 3.2L N/A and the 3.2L Kompressor motor.

While the higher compression on the NA C320 engine is different than the purpose built C32 engine, the results of adding a Supercharger will be similar.
On a C320 you will need to retard the ignition timing quite a bit to limit detonation due the higher compression. It would be a great application that would give you better Hp at a lower rpm range due to the higher compression and the potential to make C32 power on top if the fuel and engine timing issues are dealt with properly.
The closer you can move the engine timing to TDC the better as it reduces negative work on the rising piston. The only real issue is to have all the fuel/air mixture complete its burn by the time the engine reachs 20 degrees ATDC or so. Otherwise the combustion volume gets too large and will not create enough cylinder pressure to do any meaningfull work on the piston.

I know someone who was going to do this "project" I don't think it worked...

It should work fine if you get it all bolted up.
However with the higher static compression of the C320 you may need to go into the motor and clean up the combustion chamber and remove all the sharp edges and just smooth things up. This work would again be done to limit detonation.

You know for $800 bucks I should get it and throw it on the 2.8L Chevy motor in my Trooper.

it should works.. just have to fabricate the intake manifold

dont need to fabricate anything...it fits where the intake manifold sits on the 3valve V6 motors!!! it takes the place of the intake manifold and sits right in the middle!! You would probably need some components from the SLK32 or C32 to complete the mod! and of course, some1 to tune your ECU for boost!!! Though it would be risky to run this on a non AMG motor w/o switching out to stronger internals.

Looks like you would have to get creative in order to use this properly though. It looks like the manifold drops straight from the compressor into the head, so you would need to rig some sort of liquid intercooler, or else you will have similar issue like the HPS systems. Although the Lysholm charger generates much less heat than roots or screwtype compressors.

P.S. a Lysholm is a screw-type kompressor.

I was referring to Nektopoli's idea to put it onto chevy 2.8L.
As far as benz, I believe you just have to retard the timing on the 3.2.. which is mechanically impossible. ECU tune is the only way. Looks like it's self lubricating.. simple design..but who knows.

The AMG S/C doesn't employ a closed oiling system. The S/C is fed by engine oil, and it is then drained back into the pan. If the unit in the picture on ebay is the only thing you get, it's a rip-off IMHO. Where's the intercooler? The rest of the intake manifold? The throttle body? That unit is missing so many pieces to make it work, you'd be better off using it as a door stop. Not to mention pistons, con-rods, crank, reinforced block, ECU, etc. etc. etc...... By the time you got it to work, you would have spent more than just going with a KLEEMANN kompressor. I wonder if he'll take 50 bucks for it?? I've been looking for some unique book ends.
