Well for all of those who don't know me let me fill you in...
I have a 1990 w124 and have spent tons of $$ on mods this summer including rims, body kit, grille, new lighting all around, sound system, the works...
After waiting 2 months to get my wheels they arrived and were beautiful, 18" Brabus Monoblock IV chromies.
I bought them off ebay from a powerseller who sells used wheels. I wanted ANY bends or imperfections taken out and then had the wheels chromed. After this they were to be balanced.
When I had my center muffler installed I thought, well I'll have them put the wheels on just since its on the lifts already and they won't charge me. The first thing that they told me and somehow I didn't realize was that the wheels hadn't been balanced. So I thought, for $5 a wheel just go ahead.
Once they were on the balancing machine every wheel proved to be bent still!! Being angry and anxious I had them try to balance them and then put them on.
When driving above 35 mph the whole car shakes because of the wheels and I'm afraid to go above 70 mph.
Being the good guy that he is the guy I bought these from is actually paying for shipping back and out to me again and paying to have the wheels fixed so they are 100%.
Let this be a lesson. DO NOT BUY USED WHEELS which you don't know the history of and then have them "fixed" by a shop you don't go to yourself.
I will eventually get my wheels back but it is just frustrating since I paid in May and don't really have anything to show for it now.
Although the car looks nice right now before the body kit and paint is done I'm not posting pics Muahahahaha! But...here is a picture of the wheel I put on to tease the ones that have been waiting.....
(Excuse the wheel being dirty...it actually does BLING BLING :) )
