At 122k miles and I fear the wiring harness is kicking. Car died on me tonight, waiting for stealership to open on Tuesday and getting it towed in.
My dad just bought my mom a new ML, and I dont want him thinking about buying another new car right away, and I am just a poor student with no money :(
Oh well, I drive about 90 miles a day so I want this POS Benz to last me until school ends.

where all the electric components of the engine and car are interconnected. Basically it's a big set of wires that does all that's electrical and it's located somewhere int he engine bay/firewall.
They tend to go bad on the m104 engine.

I have read prices from $600 up to $1,100 for wire harness before installation. I hope it is a cheap $60 OVP relay, but from the research I have done, I think its the harness.

Sorry to hear that... wiring harness in newer benz goes bad so fast for some reasons.
It is going to be $700 plus labor :(
Definately something you should check before picking up a used benz.

Go to mercedes shop .com and do a seach for wiring harness, look for my thread as well, I've been through the bull*&@$ b4 and if you play this right they will either do it for free or sell it to you at a VERY discounted price. I printed all the complaints I could find on ALL the merdcedes websites, plus the NHSTA and walked in with around 150 or so pages of this. The sold it to me for around 120.00 and I installed it my self. It took around 8hrs to do but Im in love with my car again. Email me if you would like and I help you out where I can.

I did lots of research there, and became sort of familiar with your problem. My car has been in shop since Tuesday (now is Wednesday night) and my shop still doesn't know what is wrong
If I find out it is indeed wiring harness (hopefully by tomorrow), I will take up your offer and email you about details. Thank you for being so kind!
