maybe world-wide minus Louisiana. Nextel service SUCKS here. I was a Nextel customer while they were analog. about 4 months into them switching to digital i got out....there were so many dead spots, that it didn't even make sense to have a cell. I'm on Cingular now and it's pretty alright. get service everywhere but at the lakefront (no towers in the lake).

I'm connected to the Vodacom network, one of 3 in South Africa.
My service provider is Smartcell, which is a devision of Smartcom. They are supposedly among the worst in the country, and I can vouch for that. I am very unhappy with their service (or lack thereof).
They only have offices in Johannesburg, and every time I want to apply for a new service (e.g. GPRS, itimised email billing) I have to fax them. Other service providers do this online, but mine seems to be stuck in 1985... :(
Added to that, they have billed me 6 months in advance. And nobody up there can tell me WHY.
Cingular. Everything is working fine for me so far.

Verizon (formally GTE wireless)
same Employee demo line for 6 years now:
Unlimited nationwide for....FREE - never see a bill - service is no better or worse than any other provider. Here in Houston we use 800mhz CDMA. Austin, Dallas, LA & most of the other US cities use 1900 MHZ CDMA. Battery life is double in 1900mhz markets. We suck here in Houston. I have Xtended life batt on my V60 motorola & it goes dead in 24 hrs talking 1 hour a day. In LA my battery lasted ALL weekend.
Customers see me pull up in the slammed C36 & think Im a prick taking all their $$ every month. Then they find out I am just the 'tech' & not the store manager or something & really cant figure it out!

I'm rolling Nokia 7210 on Cingular service
I pretty much have 3000 day, unlimited nights, weekends, MTM, text messages, etc.
So I used up a lot :) It's a family plan. With all the night and weekend minutes + MTM, I use approx 2-3K a month.
My crazy younger bro once used 9000 minutes in one month....
