Let's say you have an opportunity to pick up some nice
used rims but seller has no real history about them..Accept the
fact they came off a certain make. You guys get where I'm going with this? Anyways is there a way to find out the offset of the rims. I don't want to pick them up if they're not going to fit my W124. All I know is they're 18 ' 8's came off a Benz but don't know which model but supposedly they'll fit Audi's to.

Usually in the back of the wheel (inside) there is a stamp reading somethig like "ET 35" or "ET 37" or "ET 30", etc... This stamp can be in variouse places, on the spoke, on the lip, etc... Have the seller look for this stamp and give you exact reading. The actual number on that sign will be your offset. Good luck!

Thanks that helps alot, so I'll be looking for a 35 stamp or marking right? Anything else won't fit on my standard W124.
