Well, I did it. Well next week that is. I got the RENNtech carbon fiber air box, ECU upgrade, burlwood shiftknob with RENNtech logo and thinking about the wheels. I will post some pics of the wheels that was loaned to me for this Sunday's Club Hot Water Show at Momentum BMW.

Here are the pics of the wheels. The mono is sick! The weight is under 21 lbs. in an 18". So what would you do? 17" Nova... which I am not realy into, but for performance... or the Mono in a 18"? Keep in mind... a very BIG price difference!

I honestly think the wheels you have on your car now look better than either of the Renntech examples.

i think the general opinion of renntech around here is you can get better items for less $ unless you are going all out (i.e a 40k engine swap, manual tranny swap or massive work, like harris, but im sure he got hooked up somewhat) for the price of renntech get some hre's or something. if your going to spend that kind of $ for a wheel time for kinesis!!!!

You guys are both right. I too thought the same when I put the wheels up against the car. Anyways, I am taking these wheels to a show at Momentum BMW (Club Hot Water) for display along with other RENNtech material.

As for me, the cf air box upgrade (8-10 HP) and the ECU (40HP), and the REMUS Exhaust, well I don't think there is any HP increasement with it... I will be getting about 325HP.

sweeeeeettnesssss, congrats on the RENNTech mods!!!! I got the CF airbox and ECU upgrade on my ML55 and I definately feel the increase in power. Especially some crazy throttle response!!! You should definatley go with the RENNTech Monolites....those are some sweet looking lightweight rims!!!

I actually like the Renntech wheels on your car (good for performance too for its supposely light weight). If you could, put them on and take pics please. But just like dtmcoupe said earlier, also consider HREs, they are hella nice too.

IMHO, the RENNtech monolites shave some years off your ride... plus they are somewhat rare, out there in the world.
My preference is the individual over the trend, personally.

If you can float the expen$e, I say "go for broke" (my mantra).

I would go with the RENNTechs over the HREs.....

1. RENNTech Monolites are lighter
2. HREs have a lip that bend easy
3. Everyone has HREs
4. Rare to see a W124 with Monolites
5. Monolites just look soooo much better IMHO

Monolites look sick on a W124, look at my car:D

JK

But IMHO, the monolites are by far the BEST wheels I have ever had...( I have had AMG, Racing Hart, RH Evolution, Lorinser, American Racing, HRE....) They are unbelievably strong, and much much stronger than most wheels on the market for their weight Holding one you may think it would be easy to bend, but let put it this way:

About 2 years ago I drifted my car into a curb about a foot high that was a sharp angled curb (90 degrees) I: a. crack my front bumper, b. Crack my skidplate, c. Crack my oil pan, d. break the motor mounts, e. break my hood mounts, f. knock my motor 7'' into the firewall, g. knock all brackets for both headlights...

BUT......I did not bend EITHER front wheels at all. Trust me, for all of you that think that RENNTEch is overpriced BS, you are wrong. I thought that at first until this happened, and I got my motor built by them.

GO MONOLITES, youll never turn back!!!

i agree that if you have the means then its a great company, if i had 17k to spend on a manual tranny and 40k on an engine swap i would do it with them. but they are very "exclusive" tuners. as for the wheels i think you can find something like hre for the same price....but heres the great thing about the world of cars...you can get what ever YOU like. pick your fav :)

every1 has their own opinion and choice to pick which wheel they like....but it helps when you have forums that inform you on comparissons.....IMHO.... i still say RENNTech Monolites all the way...im even switching from my Carlsson 2/5 brilliant editions to the 20" RENNTech monolites when they offer it for W163!!!
