Does anyone have a hookup in Japan? My nihongo skills are not up to coversing with the seller. From what I can make out, the system can be installed in MB, VW, Volvo. They offer to cut and install the key, or you can cut your own. The "target" price by the seller is $158 (19,000 yen)

Yahoo Japan Auctions, the Yahoo flavor of E-Bay. The seller's listing says he doesn't ship internationally. It would be better if I could just get the ID of company that makes the system and see if it can be imported. I'm sure there's a bunch of W124 and 201 owners that would like an updated key. I've done Scotty's flip mod, but really want it to lock and unlock remotely.

Thanks Ozzie, but I tracked down this asian set . . . Samisen Remote Control Auto Alarm System. Now, I'm trying to track down an importer.

That's the only reason that I haven't done Scotty's mod cause I want the functionality of locking/unlocking and the alarm of course

Oh, if you're interested, also post the model of your car (to check for compatability of the kit).

Let me know what your Japan contact can do. I've got e-mails out the Samisen folks and to a German company. The Samisen is a full alarm with auto locking for around ($180 shipped), the German company is the auto locking with connection to an existing alarm, but I'm still waiting for a multi unit purchase price.

So MTI will this unit work in conjunction with another say remote start unit? I also wanted to add a solonoid for the trunk

We need to see who's really interested here and over at 190Rev cause I definetly want this.

Well after looking at some Jap site someone posted for with e500 parts. I stumbled across a flip key on their site for 19,800YEN=168.60USD. Not bad at all sounds like the right price for me.

Not to be a d!ck/blow this out of porportion... but it isn't exactly cool to use the term, "Jap."

I see that term all over this forum, for some (unknown) reason.

Nihongo o hanashimasen (skoshi)... but a significant # of my friends are Japanese/I lived for 18 years in Hawaii.

Peace / Ganbatte nei,

Shell-san, honto ni "akamai" desu. :D

After doing some searching, there are 3 or 4 flip, flick, folding key systems out there. Some are just the auto locking with tie ins to alarms and some are full on alarm units.

For remote locking only, I found a German site www.Racing24.de (http://www.Racing24.de) and asked what kind of deal he could make on five or six units. Bear in mind, these are not alarm systems, they are remote lock/unlock units that I believe can tie into existing alarms.

According to the mail, if six units are purchased, the system with one (1) flip remote is 88 Euros, and if you want a spare flip remote, it's 115 Euros. Shipping is 5 Euros for each system and I specified that I wanted it sent German Airmail, not FedEX or UPS.

I'll see if I can get more specs on the transmitter sensitivity and connection points with stock and aftermarket alarms. If there are any cunning linguist a bit more savvy in german than I am, please go to their website and translate the PDF file of the brochure.

I wasn't trying to use the term "Jap" in a negative way. So I think your barking up the wrong tree. I was just trying to be short on words cause I don't like to type alot.

On a side not that site is fablous I've seen pictures of some of their products before on other sites.

It works on any car that takes a normal key in the locks and ignition. Combine this with a decent alarm system and you've got a great mod there.

Still waiting for contact and confirmation about which keyblanks work with the unit. As you can see below, there are physical size issues with different keys:

Remotes (http://www.allproducts.com.tw/manufacture1/dahjiing/rb06.html)

The remote pictured in the original thread is RB-017, on the remote page of the above site i see model #rb06 and so on.

What really intrigiues me is taht on the remote paget he statement that it is "Compatible with any alarm system ". if that is true then maybe we could purchase any alarm system and use the flip key rb06 or rb017?

any comments or info ?

Sounds good and looks neat, but according to the website, the specifications for the TP-8824 claim that it has "Auto control of central door locking system" but does NOT specify if it has a 2-3 second (un)locking pulse timer to operate the vacuum pump for the door locks! Can someone clarify?

I am also working on getting these into the US. If all works well, I will have them available with keyblanks for the W201 and an alternate easy solution based on the flipkey remote design.

Can not confirm price yet but its looking to be around $150 and this will include adjustable pulse time for the vacuum door locks

After many e-mails, the Racing24.de flip key and chirp module arrived today, after being mailed from Germany on January 9th via Deutshe Post Economy. Came with two flip modules, but only one has a keyblade. Haven't had time to confirm that it's the W201 keyblank. The 15 page manual shows other optional parts, including other model keyblanks. Will update with pics when I get this thing home.

The "chirp" module is not pictured, it's a speaker and bracket, used to confirm the locking of the system. I'm still translating the manual from deutsche to English. The keyblade is a dead ringer for my W201 key.
