3.8 M5 vs Kleemann S50K
This post for www.m5board...... (http://www.m5board......).

Not my experience......so be carefull.........with ???

Hello everybody,

I went to germany yesterday for business cruising in my belgian '95 E34M5 at 200-220 km/h on unrestricted ( autobahn ) speeedway when near Hockenheim I see in front of me a wonderful black KLEEMANN S50K from netherlands. (372 KW / 506 HP - at 5800 rpm, 675 NM - from 2000 rpm - topspeed 311 km/h )h:

I begin to race him when a truck stop us on left lane. 340 HP against 506 HP.

When traffic was clear I see that he goes to "pedal to the metal" . We begun to 120 km/h to arrive at speed 270-275 km/h ( 300 on my tacho ). at 120 to 200 km/h at my surprise 2 cars were almost the same!!! Just 10 meters difference for KLEEMANN. After 200 km/h it was another story because I was at full throttle and the Mercedes flies like a plane. After 1 minute at 275 kph I decide to stop this run because against a car at 311 km/h i can't do anything.

But when I slow down to 150-160 km/h I see a heavy white smoke on road an a smell of fire. 2 kilometers after I see The black KLEEMANN stopped on right side with white smoke leaving the engine

I stopped and I begun to talk with owner. He was against his car. His motor totally blows and believe me it was impressive to see all motor cover with oil...

I hope that KLEEMANN cars were more reliable than this one. I dont have 506 hp, ok, but I have 240.000 km with my car and I don't think that this type of super "boosted" or "kompressed" cars are so reliable than a good stock engine....

It's sad to have spent all that money, and hoping to spank all M cars, but at the end looks who's smiling..

Maybe this is one has some defective part in it ..?? :s

Even though this is an aftermarket fitment, I also have reservations on the current AMG trend of supercharging. There just isn't the history to determine how reliable the MB engines handle SCing IMHO.

I certainly hope the AMG implementations are more reliable and tested better
