Hey guys, my Philips Ultinon 6000k hid kit just arrived. I figure I could install the kit without removing the headlight assembly, and i almost did, but there's this one wiring harness that I need to get to and it's underneath the headlamp or something.

I don't wanna go to some shop this time to get these installed and I figure i'd have some fun with my friends installing this together, so yeah, how the heck do i remove the whole headlight assembly? Thanks.

Honestly, I wouldnt f- w/ it if I were you. That ish is dangerous, it's high voltage. Your sweater vest could catch on fire.

Just goto the place behind TWS, it's like 100 bucks to install i think.

Don't listen to that donut eater. Just because he can't remove the headlights doesn't mean you won't be able to.

Very easy... you can do it yourself.

Just two bolts outside and one inside I think... haven't done it in a while and I might be getting mixed up with w124...

Hey Aud...off-topic but...where did you pick up the kit and how much did cost you?... :)

i got this kit from Hid-Online. They're located in the UK but they have standard 2-day UPS delivery on all their products. I got this for 580$, plus shipping and they gave me a pair of halogen bluevision lights (which was pointless) and a pair of w5w city lights, which i might put in, just to make the fogs look more blue.

I have to say, the instrucations they provided were pure bs and extremely ambiguous. But they material they provided was top notch, true philips ballasts.

Wow that's expensive man...but I'm sure the quality is great...

Autorice sells Hella HID kits with a 10 year warranty for $389.99USD...that's a good deal IMO...I just might pick one up for Christmas...:)

here's the kit. Yeah, i heard philips ballasts and stuff are top-notch...at least that's what I've heard...if them damn xenon lights are defective then there's gonna be a stomp-down up in the UK

yeah anymore how-to's? it's still kind of vague, but thanks for your advice Brabus.

are you serious? Hey, i'm available this weekend, so maybe you can hit me up or whatever on my cell and I can meet you at your place (it'll only take me bout 45 minutes to get to the OC) and we can do this sh!t. Then I can buy you lunch or something. Yeah, email me with some info or whenever you're free. Thanks man.

Yeah, i have to remove the headlight, unless I had hands of a starving 3rd world country child, I wouldn't be able to get into the thing that i need to get into. (sorry for being vague)...I just know that there's a black wire that needs to be grounded with the metal (that's easy) and a red wire that needs to be connected to the headlight wiring harness that will provide the xenons with the 12volts.

Unplug the OEM H7 harness from the bulb its attached to. You insert the plug from your ballast to this. The other end of wires from the ballast plugs into the bulb itself.

Thats all there is to it.

Should take no more than 5mins per side to install these eye blinding thing a ma jigs.

i know it's easy, i'm just saying that I can't get the headlight assembly out...

i unscrewed 4 screws, and it got really loose, but still something wouldn't budge...it was as if there was a screw that i couldn't reach into. argh. I unscrewed the screw on the top and on the side (after taking out the amber corners) with a wrench, then 3 more with a philips screw driver, but i have no idea where the other one was, so I put everything back together.

theres also one where the fan is, its about mid way down the head light. thats the tricky one.

About your hands not being small enough, if i can get my hands in there anybody can, I am a lot bigger than you are. maybe even twice your size. yeah send me an email 714guy@sbcglobal.net and i'll help you out.

yes EXACTLY, that's where that damn screw is, I tried and tried but i couldn't get in there. Can you tell me how you do it, cuz if i can take the thing out, i can probably wire it up myself, but if I can't, then I'll shoot you an email.

I'm with doc on this one. Don't F*&@ with this! Just have someone professionally do it, it won't cost much, and then you have a guarantee on the work and such. There's no shame in doing it. I did it, and I'm glad, because there was a problem and THEY'RE fixing it, not me!

And almost 600 bucks? Damn! That's the price I got my santeca lights for, and they offer high and low beams. These things better be choice with no purple for that price!
