Just put my new RS-4 porterfield pads on the front last night. They bite like a bull-dog on the mailman now! Threw my dust-covers in the trash after I played frisbee w/ em.

What color do you guys think would look best on my calipers???? My car is silver & the Monoblocks cover about half of the brakes (you can still see 'em though)

1. leave 'em alone - (fugly steel)
2. Silver
3. Black
4. Red
5. Yellow
6. Kleeman purple

I actually have blue on my wheels, but I think silver if you want them to blend in (both with the wheels and with the body) or red if you want them to stand out and grab attention. Yellow and Purple are too flashy/ricey for a benz, and black is damn boring.

My car is grey and I put red cause my corners are clear and my euro taillights are smoked and red;)
The red front calipers offset nicely.

Red. Looks great. :) Black if you want to be less conspicuous.

I saw a C32 the other day with yellow. Not a pretty sight!!!!!! :(

with the cast calipers, I've been told that most caliper paint kits won't look good b/c of the underlying texture... they recommended gold, to emulate the newer Brembo calipers... that idea's starting to grow on me.... understated, yet still noticeable by the inexperienced eye

Black - Hides brake dust ;)

Uhhh........RED is looking good right now, but the GOLD idea is definintly a thought! I went and looked at a WRX STI Subaru at the dealer & the gold calipers were looking good??

Here is an idea of what the SL caliper looks like behind the Monoblock............

These babies ARE NOT dust free. They arent as bad as OEM pads, but dont expect 'no dust' They grab nice though!

no matter what you decide, they'll end up BLACK if you don't keep them clean (weekly).

use (real) caliper paint (obviously)...

PS - i have the same pads, and you are 100% correct: "dust-free" my @55!!!

Just leave them if you got monoblocks. Not worth all that trouble, if you have to, go black. This will make them look new and shinny and hide dirt better.

Kleeman purple is sick. I thought it looked femme, but after seeing them on a few galleries, they look balls out mean.

oh by the way, stay away from gold, unless you want to look
"G".

As someone said earlier, like myself, don't burn up your time
if you have Monoblocks. No one could give a rats nuts what
color my calipers are since I have Monoblocks.

I'd go with red and use the VHT ('http://"http://www.pjhbrands.com/vht/breakcaliper.htm"') caliper coating.

Make them RED!!!!

Those porterfield are not brake dust free, but they sure do a much better job than OEMs when it comes to dust.
