w202 Kompressor Clutch Fault

The Kompressor has stopped working on my 1999 C230K (67K miles).

The dealer says it is the clutch that is at fault. It will be looked at next week to find out if it is electrical or the actual mechanical clutch.

Anyone else had this or had any ideas how I can maybe temporarily fix it?

Car drives, but is soooooo slow!!

You might be able to jump it so it stays on all the time, but if there is something wrong with the SC unit you could kill it.

nope nothing u can do.. and if it is the clutch thats toast on it.. I'm sorry to say but u need a new supercharger.. the clutch isnt available on its own.

Car is STILL at stealer!!!! 8 days now.

They are waiting for a new ECU from Germany now as they have tested everything else and think it is that.

The latest.


ECU was faulty and has been replaced.

Kompressor Air Recirculation Flap (valve) also faulty and replaced (new part on order though).

Yes, they did put old ECU back to see if it worked with the new flap but sadly not :(
