It seems to me that guys who like cars, especially Benz would also have an interest in other high quality mechanical toys. I was wondering if anyone else has an interest in mechanical watches, and if so what are you wearing today.

We have had a number of good threads about this. I own a number of mechanicals ... and consider my Rolex to be one of the most boring of the bunch ... nonetheless, it is what I am wearing today, Rolex 16233 Stainless and gold Datejust.

im going to get a watch soon, looking at an omega speedmaster, breitling chrono or maybe a Baume & Mercier copeland (beautiful watch) i would love a nice G&P but those are $$$....or maybe ill get new coilovers and race bucket seats ;) any other watch experts got any ideas on a watch for me...i love the speedmaster and copeland, so thats kinda what i like the look of...a chrono thats not bulky, as i have a small hand...navitimer is a great watch but its huge on me.

Got a Breitling that I bought last year, very nice, I love it! Go to a good store (don't ever buy on the Net, unless you're shopping at Borsheim's), and NEGOTIATE!

Tag Professional something or other. is blue with alternating polished/brushed stainless links. had it for forever it seems...works wonderfully, except it NEVER shows the correct date. I set it, and the next day, the date is off....oh well,,,example...it is showing today as the 2nd. :P

It's scuffed up pretty bad because the front isn't made of sapphire crystal. Instead it's Hesalite crystal because the Speedmaster was made for the astronauts, so using a sapphire crystals would be dangerous if it broke, they would shatter inside the space shuttle/capsule. Hesalite crystals will never shatter, only crack.

Most luxury higher end Speedmaster watches do use sapphire crystals now, but my Speedmaster was the cheap kind so it came with the lower quality Hesalite crystal. I got my watch for about one grand.
