Any MB Coupe window question please read

You know how most of the newer mercedes coupes roll the window down a little when you open the door. Well I want to do that to my 1983 300CD. My windows are all power already.

Ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You'll have to see if the power window module from the newer benzes is compatible with your car. 2001 and newer I believe. I've heard of guys having the old ones replaced with the newer ones under warranty when they had issues with their windows.

That'd be a pretty nice mod, but I dunno if the motors can handle that even with that new modulator...

I figured out why the new models have this option.

When you shut the door with the window all the way up, it puts a lot of stress on the seals and the window glass, and I am sure that you could actually break the window, so I would like to make them roll down, than back up.

I think it would be really cool.

That may be one of the reasons. I think the other reason is that when the car is all closed up (windows and sunroof), there is such a good seal in MBZ, that when you close the door, it doesn't always shut completely. I've tried it with the window cracked or the sunroof open and the door closes much easier. Keeps you from having to slam the door.

That is a very good point. My seals are all getting old, I want to replace them all in the near future as well.
