So after much thoughts given to it, I have pretty much decided to go w/ the Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD instead of the Alpine IVA D900. This is in part due to the fact that everything Alpine is $$$$, such as Nav.
Pioneer seems to be a good alternative.
Any of you have that in dash dvd playa w/ touch screen or something similar? Paul?
Danke.

I do believe that the IVA is much better in quality, but pioneer whould be a good substitute. I must say though, you should consider the clarion vrx935...i think that is...it has the touch panel too, and i think it kinda looks nicer...

I've always been the same way too....
I feel like Alpine is Mercedes, and Pioneer is BMW, with more features, and cheaper, but still good stuff.
What I like about the pioneer is the built in tv tuner, ability to have voice command( using the voice commander which is about 200 bucks), and the touchscreen (faster than going through menus).
It's a tough choice. Right now for the unit I want, the lowest prices I have found are only 150 bucks cheaper than the IVA D900. It needs to be much cheaper for me to warrant going to Pioneer though...
We'll see.

I'm gonna go Alpine since it seems to be cheaper.

You know I got love for you, man.
Go with the Alpine! Does Pioneer have Navi capabilities - and if so, how much?

hhaha it's all good mang :D
Pioneer got some good nav stuff, making use of voice commands as well.
Unless I find the Pioneer for close to 1K, I won't bother.
I like the Alpine looks better anyway.

I used to rock Pioneer or Clarion just because they were still made in Japan. Notsure if they still are now though. I never had any problems with either one of them too. I also had Alpine way back in the day, but I found that their quality went down after they started to manufacturing their products in Korea.

Even though I have the "lesser model," it's all about Alpine. :D

I have Pioneer (the one pictured above) and I am happy with it. It makes good integration between Nav, tv, dvd and cd changers, all plug and play and works really well and I like the fact that the screen does not stay open, but goes in and out with ignition being on and off.
My next car I will also go with Pioneer.

:werd: Don't have the TV/DVD experience, but had Pioneer in W202:

And W201 - still using Pioneer. Very happy.
I have an all-Pioneer setup - CD/DVD/Nav etc. Couldn't ask for anything better at the price I got from Tommy Jamal (AMG142 here on BnzSport). He's done a great job on my car!
