Tonight I was cruising around in the rain (I love to drive in the rain) being sensible and just minding my own business :)
I had to stop for a red light and whilst at the lights, a little Proton Satria (http://www.proton.com.au/satria_specs.htm) pulls up in the lane next to me.
It's a cute little car, and I nearly bought a Satria GTi as my first car. As it was still drizzling and the roads were a bit wet, I was driving normally. B)
Just before the light goes green, I see the Proton creaping forward. I just thought "Idiot" and waited for the light to go green :huh:
I took off as per usual, but the Proton was revving VERY high. He was trying to race me. I had the car in 'Normal' shift mode and it was shifting at about 2800 RPM or so. The Proton owner was revving the hell out of his car to get away from me, yet I still managed to walk away from him :P
Anyway, we come to another set of lights and he is ready to go (again). I put it into 'Power' mode and blasted away from the lights. As the roads were a bit wet, the back end kicked out when the car shifted to 2nd :P It took the Proton a good 10 seconds or so to pass me :D
He went tearing up the road, jumps in front of me and puts his hazard lights on, signalling a win :rolleyes:
I laughed so damn hard that I nearly missed my turn to go home :lol:
Whether they were serious or not, I dont really know. I just dont understand why you would want to race someone when you have two other friends in your car, the roads are wet, and the car you are racing will rape you :blink:
