OK so Iam high bidder on a C36 motor that was sold 1st on mercedesshop, now the guy that bought it sold his car, so anyway, if I use the stock computer will it run OK or should I have mine reprogrammed for the new motor...I thought this would be good since I have 194k on the motor now(no probs however) and a new (Mercedes Reman)trans with only 25k miles on it. Give me your thought. Thanks
Chris

My guess is that it will run fine on the stock computer but to get all that you paid for, a C36 computer would be better.

Good luck in finding a C36 ECU. They are hella $$ and hard to find

A C36 ECU would be better I think if you can find one. They are programmed more agressivly. If you use your e320 ecu, you may be loosing power. No sure though. Also, I heard that a c36 ECU's are tuned too agressvily and shorten the life of the trans.

No idea on the computer but I just finished reading the article in the newest Mercedes Enthusiast about W124 E36s! I think they're hot! So... Good luck!

It's a tough do... I will work but it's a ton of work and takes a lot of time.

Yeah but it would take big $$$ to convert from diesel to a gas 3.6 motor. Gas lines would have to be installed and all that stuff.
