my C43 is stock!!! do you have a problem with throttle response or with running rich? It seems like my black C43s throttle response isnt as good as my silver C43s and my black C43 runs rich.

Moedigga,

Shortly, HPS will be offering a supercharger system for the C43 Mercedes-Benz. This owner is from Seattle, Washington and will represent us on both Mercedes-Benz forums. His experience with HPS & C43 Mercedes-Benz will be available for a test drive upon request. If you like I can forward his contact information?

You need to go see someone with a DAS machine and do a "short test" on the car. There are several known issues with your vehicle that can cause your problem.

1. Bad throttle "slide"- actually the entire throttle body assembly.

2. MAF out of calibration

3. Goodwill recall on specific ECU numbers- updated software to cure driveability issues

Sir/Madam (my apologies; however, I do not know your name/gender),

Your ///bnzsport.com user profile indicates that you are the Director of KLEEMANN (USA).

If this is true, I respectfully recommend/request that you indicate this in your signature (currently lacking).

Thank you for visiting this forum; your interest in "taking the pulse" of your existing customer-base (and prospective future customers) is MOST appreciated!

Alas... if you only had a W124-036 (500E/E500) application/offering...

:smoke:

I second run.exe,

M104 application for 202 would be nice! More room in my bay than a C43 too!

I dont think my variable volume intake manifold & vvt would work good w/ a blower though??

But, twin turbos have been done before on a C36!

Or if you had an R129 SL500 offering. With the lower resale values on used R129s you could have a decently sized market base.

If such a product was available we'd seriously consider keeping the car instead of a trade-in in a year or two.

yea.....buy my personal baby is the ML55....im probably gunna go RENNTech SC or RENNTech can custom fabricate me a Twin Turbo setup similar to that of the SLR!!! But I will go and do further research on that when i got the cash to spend! The C43 i have is a daily driver but im thinking bout finding a 5.4L M113 and doing the C55 swap!!! Just gotta know if the stock SL500 tranny in my C43 would handle the power. If not, im gunna have to get a whole new tranny too.....grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Nice to see you join us. And thanx for the "My HPS C43 Supercharger" post...just what I was looking for. :classic: :classic:

I'm the guy from Long Island you spoke to just after you had the Photo-shoot done. When does that come out BTW?

I really want to get one done, thought timing is bad financially for me @ the time. Otherwise, I do have a concern. Intake location.

So where is yours located exactly and how is it working out? The car I saw done in Conn. had the intake just in front of the front right wheel. That simply can't work for me due to a) the amount of dirt used on the roads in bad winter, and B) the fact that I have to drive over a road built on a "sand bar" -- that worse washes out in bad weather -- to get to my house.

Additionally, that car didn't appear to have much of a "hole shot" to it; said to be because of the handicap of working with the Renntech chip. It may have been due to the driver, but I don't think so. It didn't have "much" off the line and on the way to 60mph. On the highway it was a burner, but below that, it didn't appear to be much better than stock (sad to say).

...and I drive local roads and two to four lane highways (both ways) mostly. Can you give me your experience off stop lights? Currently, twist off the line on my C43 is really great. Am I to believe I'd lose some of that with the HPS?

Thanx much, and glad to hear from you again (I hope your typing is getting better :D )

98c43amg,

Before purchasing our state of the art supercharger system, this gentleman upgraded to Renntech software to have the speed limiter removed. This software is very complex and unknown to us, since they do not offer any schematics for it. Our fuel management devices integrate perfectly with an original ECU for Mercedes-Benz. Therefore all three-fuel management devices were unable to work with the ECU, leading to check engine lights and running lean. During your test drive this vehicle was not tuned properly and that is why you experience this.

Data testing by our engineering team showed boost pressure at 4.7 and fuel pressure adequate, so the compressor was working at optimal level. But it's all about fuel management, without the proper 12 to 1 air fuel ratio, no system will run efficient.

On a bright note, our installation facility was able to solve this minor setback and complete the installation. I expect installation photos and post dyno test shortly.

I will comment on the dirt question shortly.

98c43amg,

Our engineering team design and produced a splash deflector shield that would prevent unnecessary factors or items from penetrating the air filter. Such as water, rocks, and etc. After continues road test in various environments and locations our testing showed 1%-5% increase in dirt or clog of the air filter in the most extreme conditions. Yes you might lose a few horsepower here and there but it can easily be taken care by cleaning out the K&N filter during your Mercedes-Benz service.

PS. Yet the placement will give you ample amount of air.

Oh, I missed this message! Thanx for the research and reply. still considering it. Timing isn't the best and the boss [err, wife ;) ] is getting angry.
