My 1997 C36 has a homelink on the visor (garage opener). Since we got a new garage opener, I can;t sync it to the homelink because it is a revolving code.
Any ideas on if the homelink can be made to work with a revolving code egenrated by the garage door opener?

my 210 works. its with a revolving code genie garage door opener. there was a button you press on the garage door opener while following the steps in the car manual. (need two people to program) read your garage door opener's manual, its should tell you how to program universal remotes.

The revolving type garage needs extra steps compare to the old kind. I followed all steps and it worked on my 97 W210. However, I couldn't get it to work on my brother's same year 97 W202. I didn't spend too much time on it though so I will try it again when I have time.
OT, anyone knows if 2003 E46 has in-car garage opener bottons? I looked all around and couldn't find it and I hate reaching down my glove box to use the carry out garage opener. Hmmm maybe I should just chk my owner's manual when I get around to it.

I've done this on all mine... it is a 2 step process...
1. get your old opener and while holding the homelink button (on the mirror on my E55) press the old opener button. I sometimes have to release and repress the old opener button for a while -- eventually your homelink lite will blink slowly, then fast. Once blinking fast it has "learned" the revolving code. YOu cna finally let go of all the buttons...
2. Now on your garage door opener itself, there is a button on the unit to teach it about new remotes. Press it once, it usually blinks... Jog to your car and press the homelink button you just trained. Press/release it several times (3-4) and your garage door should open/close -- you're done.

I remember it was quite tough to do on out 1997 E320 but once we got it it was all good.
I was trying to do the "pointing the remote to the homelink" way. but that was no luck. later found out that all I had to do was to push 1 button on the opener itself, it sends a signal to your vehicle and you press the homelink button to receive the code. the whole process takes 1 min. I did the same thing to my w202 2000 and 2002 I35. it's straight up
