Last night I was hanging out with a mate when we stumbled upon a Mini/Audi club meeting. We knew one of the guys there (Wes, he owns the Cooper S w/ AMD Mods) and they said they were going for a cruise, so we followed.
So Wes and I end up side by side at the lights. Over the CB all I can hear is "Smoke that HSV" :P Wes starts reviing his engine and I get ready for the take off (Power Mode, Trac Control Off). The light goes green....
SCREACH both cars leap off the line and I hammer it HARD down the road. Meanwhile, Wes has left his TC on by accident and his leap is short lived :(
We come up to another straight (after a few bends) at about 60km/h and Wes hits it. He gets the jump on me and I can see him passing me :o My car was a bit too slow to react (Wes gained a car length on me) but I passed him at about 100km/h ;)
I have to say, I was very impressed with his cars performance! I have a new found respect for the little Mini! :) His car is (obviously) a manual, which gave him a big advantage. My auto takes too long to make up it's mind :rolleyes: Still, it does put the power down :D
