Finally after waiting for a week, the RENNtech Monolite's have been delivered and mounted. I was lucky, since my Michelin Pilot Sports were defected and I ended up getting some Bridgestone S03's!
Pics will be posted in a bit.

Well, pics will be posted as late as tomorrow. I had a delima, or should I say that Michelin did. The reason I changed tires from Michelin to Bridgestone was due to a manufacturer defect. Has anyone ever heard of Michelin Pilot Sport tires splitting on the inside? Well all four of my tires look like someone took a surgical knife and cut the inside of the tire clean around. So, Michelin ended up refunding me $99.00 per tire (pro-rated) after usage for over a year and a half. So I chose to go with the Bridgstone S03's. Tires will be in tomorrow, so I am told. As for now, the Michelin's have been mounted on the Monolite's, after the fact of finding out that they are defected. Patients is golden!

Retail is $850.00 each. $3,400.00 for a set. Now you have the gonads to admit you hate my other wheels! :D You wana buy my old wheels? :D :D :D
As far as the new ones, they are not the best looking wheel, but they are very rare on a 124. I am sure that the Monolite will have a fair resale value.

Tommy, those rims are NICE dude! I like simple w/ fat lip & spokes. Wheels that are to busy make the car look 'off'. New fat lip HRE's look good too! Outer 'hub bolts' on 3 piecers are a beatch to clean too.
This is a wheel I had on my '00 chevy

The ride is different now, since I guess the weight is night and day compared to the "boat anchors" that I was riding on. As for the RENNtech badge, my carbon fiber air box has not made it in yet. RENNtech told me that they were shipping it along with the cf air box and the burl shiftknob.
Just for the hell of it, I stuck the "R" from the BRABUS script behind the E42. The new Bridgestone tires are to be delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday.
As for all the marketing decals from RENNtech, they are only temporary since I had them on for the last few shows. I feel funny running around town with RENNtech on the side of the car.
sweeeeeeeet.....that looks so nice and so rare.....
i was about to mention something about those renntech badges but then i read ur post......yea...they look "different".....lol

Tommy, get that ugly ass terk antenna off the trunk! Or at least paint it body color.

Elvir - The R on the end was only temporary since my RENNtech badge will be in soon. I thought I would be creative and place the R on the end for RENNtech...
schaltwerk - It's going to have to be more than cross drilled rotors to stop this baby. I am really going to consider a big brake kit.
Doc - My XM antenna? Shut Up :D I have had that antenna for the last 2 years... I have not really thought much about it. But I may paint it like you suggested.

Benz's are fricken heavy cars to begin with. (GOOD, all the more safer I will be in an unfortunate accident!), so what does it matter if a wheel weights 18 pounds or 33 pounds? You take 18 pounds times 4 or 33x4 and the difference is about a whole 50 pounds. I mean you better remove your air bags, your AC, your back seats, swap all glass with plastic windows, change out your metal fenders with fiberglass ones, remove the window tint because the film has got to weigh like 5 ounces. Tell your wife/girfriend to lay off the blue cheese dressing and get Ranch Light from now on, remove all your ICE in the car and use a featherlight walkman for every passenger. Remove the manual and registration from your glove compartment and take it to Kinkos to have have shrinked down to .002 % of a font to save on the original font size to save weight.
C'mon man that can get out of control!
That whole school of thought sounds RICE to me. Or maybe I am just talkin smack?

Elvir, you have to understand that price is not all that matters.
Its about having the shit and getting the rewards from it. Knoc offs and crappy wheels are cool, but in certain circles and belive me the circles are there. Haff ass products are not taken well and the drivers of such vehicles are considered idiots.
He knows that, I know that now you know.

BTW why did you not go for a different wheel size in the rear as far as width??

Shaving the antenna is something that I've been considering... It would cost me around $300-400 due to the matching paint with the rear door. Worth it?

Actually, in all due respect, you're just talking smack :) You need to distinguish between two different kinds of weight on a car: Sprung and unsprung weight.
Now obviously the difference is in exactly how they're described. Sprung weight is the weight that is being held up by your springs... basically everything on the car (including you) except the wheels, brakes, and tires (the un-sprung weight). Now it makes a HUGE difference to shave a few pounds here and there on the unsprung weight because that part of your car is what the motor need to spin, rotate, torque in order to get the car moving. In an example it takes less force to roll a golf ball rather than a bowling ball.
You can read more if you do a search on this topic. It's all in the physics of it :)
In terms of what you were talking about with losing small pounds from the sprung weight of your car (removing back seats, ICE, A/C, tint, windshield washer, etc.... it is agreed that unless you can remove a significant amount... ie. 200lbs, then it most likely won't make a difference. And even if you did, you could only feel it on a track.

vader13 - I too am glad I got some real s**t is on my car too. The wheels are night and day compared to the "boat anchors" that I had prior. I am not talking about the looks, but ride quality! The Monolights are +/- 19 lbs. each, and I can tell you... you can feel a big difference when going over bumbs and hitting small pot holes in the road. Much smoother, and not such a harsh feeling.
the wheels look very nice...as for the price...i would never get them for that amount.....whats with the R badging...it looks funky, knowing mercedes does not make anything R baded....other than that nice..
Elvir - thanks for the compliment. As for price, well, the way I looked at it, I wanted something that no one (in Houston, Texas) has on a W124. And I know for a fact that no one does. There are some on the S and SL's, but not a W124. So price did not matter. As for the "R" thing, well since my RENNtech badge has not made it in yet, I was just playing around, I will have it removed once the RENN badge gets in.

714guy,
The car does feel "lighter" if I may say, but it too could be all in my head. But I do know for a fact that the wheels have played a big role in all around. As for off the line, honestly, my computer is in "Limp Home Mode" and will be swapped out this Friday with another one from Mercedes (Thanks to the extended warranty! :D ) So I am sure that after I get the computer re-programmed with the RENNtech software, I will see a BIG improvement.

vadar13,
I would love to have a wider rear, but I would most likely have to move "south of the border" and aquire some tassle balls to hang from the front windshield. I am pushing the width with 8-1/2. I was going to try a 235 or 245 in the rear, but it ain't going to happen. Anyhow, here in Houston; people are soo conservative and lame when it comes to modding european cars not to mention a benz. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one along with ThreePointSix (Kylie) and Subman (Tom) who represent in Houston.

How do HRE's match up to these monolites in terms of weight.... HRE's are forged so shouldnt they be just as light
and Vader 13 I totally agree with you and rocking the real deal... I feel better when I do cuz if I ever had a company I wouldnt want people to making knock offs of my stuff.... buy what you can afford and if you cannot afford the real brabus or what not get the real from some other company and you will get more respect than buying knock offs...

There is a noticeable difference in how the car responds when it has heavy wheels. When you swap em with lighter wheels, the cars response to steering input is so much better. Unsprung weight.
I had some heavy wheels on my car, and when I swapped them with lighter ones, it was a night and day diff.
Those monolites are beautiful. I wanted those too, but can't afford em. They look great on your 124! Clean and classy.
