HPS is scheduled to install on Monday June 9 a supercharger system on a 1999 C43 Mercedes-Benz. Anyone interested in a test drive, please give me a call? (I'll provide before & after dynamometer results and much more!)

There is ALOT of room in the engine bay of any C36 or C280. Any plans to offer or do an install in an M104 202 car?? I would love to keep up w/ the new C32 or beat M'3s.

DTM 3.6 race cars were producing 400hp back in '95 naturally aspirated. I know my rotating assembly can support close to that. I have the S350 diesel crankshaft (AMG) but I am also running a high 10.5.1 comp ratio. A low boost 4-5 psi unit will give me alot more low end torque that I really need. My car has 2.87 gears that need help down low. I already beat Mustang GT's and W8 passats but I want more.

Given the low prices on the W202 cars right now & in the future I believe HPS can capture viable market share on the 6/cyl cars. '95 C36's are like 15-18K now, '98 C43's are to be had in the low-mid 20's.

Adam, thanx for the press kit. The CD was cool but wish it was longer (hint hint). Anyway, keep me informed as I am still very interested in the product for my C43.

You guys got a repair kit for the C36? I spend more money reparing it then modding it :(

The amount of money I spent repairing it..i could have gotten a SC kit twice over. :(

DLS,

No problem.

Our C43 client is from Seattle, Washington and will represent us on both Mercedes-Benz forums shortly. His experience with HPS & C43 Mercedes-Benz will be available for a test drive upon request.
I think this will be an excellent chance to first hand, experience the power and performance our systems has to offer.

Adam, where will be the C43 be? In Santa Ana or in Seattle for the install and dyno? I would be interested in going down to check it out if it's in Santa Ana.

Turbo ,

Installation and dynamometer testing of our newest product the C43 Mercedes-Benz will be in Santa Ana, California. I’m trying to give ample amount of time for any potential C43 customers in the Southern California area an opportunity to view and test-drive this vehicle before the clients drives back north. However this vehicle will be available to any potential HPS customers in the Pacific Northwest.

This car will be available either Thursday or Friday depending we don’t experience any major problems.

THAT CAR IS OFF THE HOOK! That is one of the top-five finest W202's I have ever seen!!!!

Congrats on the new C43 line-up, and finally some reasonable prices on a Mercedes blower (as oppossed to Kleemann and Lorinser).

this is what puts Mercedes-Benz tuning above all others in my opinion. the only thing that could possibly eclipse it is race prepped ferraris.. but then how long would those last on the street anyway?

this C43 with HPS supercharger looks awesome.

Adam:

Nice install. Now I'm really tempted. Maybe you could hook me up with the owner and I can give a testimonial on the car? I am fairly known on the forums and have no affiliation with any tuner (besides AMG ;)), so it can be an independent write up.

Thanks

I was just curious.... Why doesn't the engine have an AMG cover? Did they make C43s like this?

98 and 99 C43's, I believe, have the engine cover like the one I posted in a thread awhile back. 00 C43's have the newer one, but has the AMG engine technician signature stamped on the block. Dont really need an AMG engine cover.

I am guessing that the car is either a 98 or 99 and the newer cover was put on b/c the s/c requires the cover to be in that style, not the old one.

Nice! Thanks for the update. I noticed that the stock dyno run was 290/275. I believe that 302/302 is the quoted number. I know that there is a lot individual variation between cars, but daay-uum...
OTOH, I know it is a calculation, and I was ballparking 240RWHP anyway, so that sounds about right...
Thanks!

mis-u-jerr,

Year, make, model, and mileage are a key contributor to horsepower & torque output. It’s necessary to baseline every vehicle to achieve actually numbers. In this case, our clients C43 performed under Mercedes-Benz stock. However, I’m not sure which factor was used? (HPS uses 1.22-correction factor.) MB might be higher?

This before and after dynamometer chart shows the power and performance our system offers!

Expect an announcement Monday of next week!

I have a C43 and am seriously considering the HPS Supercharger. (got other expenses 1st however) To put my mind at ease over some of the questions I had, Adam of HPS put me in touch with that C43's owner. Great guy -- and you'll see his car in an upcoming Benzo mag. A final question I asked him was about the Rims. Brand's called ZAUBER. He had to have the back fender rolled so it didn't rub btw.

When I dyno'ed my C43, power to the wheels was similar. ...very depressing.
