Do you go to bed thinking about what mods you can do to the car next? Are you obsessed with seeing your car from others point of view? Do you have a knot in your stomach when something on your car is not right and you can't repair it immediately, and can you not sleep well until it's fixed? Can you not stand the thought of anyone else owning/driving the car? Must it be constantly gleaming clean, and do you love polishing parts most people will never see? Or, do you let it get really dirty on purpose, just so when you clean it you will be more impressed with yourself? Have you been spotted at the car wash at ridiculous hours of the morning? Do you think that the only way for you to quit modding is to sell your car, and then you just cannot do it? Do you love your Mercedes and what it means to you, but hate the public image and generic drivers of Mercedes vehicles? Do you hate it when your car is referred to as a vehicle? Do you look at your car as a starting point, or a blank canvas? Can you not justify buying less than the best oils for your car? Does your car contain more amenities and audio/video equipment than is in your home? Even though your car did not cost $300,000, do you feel the need to treat it like it did? Have you got into your car pissed off and got out with a smile on your face? Have you slept in your car, bled on your car, and created most of your muscle mass from working on your car? Do you think people are crazy when they don't understand why you are so crazy about your car? Then you are a true enthusiast in my mind.....or just messed up in the head. And truthfully, I don't know which one I am...but it sure makes it better to get on bnzsport and share with others the same passion... or problems you have. :)

Please, feel free to chime in with your own.......

ya it has in many ways, but actually im content with my car in general right now, i was going to get coil-overs and race buckets, but i decided on a watch instead (plus a good watch lasts longer then the owner :) ), im begginning to realise that modding is a vary bad investment and you have to really love what your getting or you kind of get screwed out of the $ you spend. but the real reason i havent got coil-overs is because i havent hit the limit in my current suspension, and theres no point in spending 2k on coils that i 1. cant drive as good as the suspension allows 2. i dont know the right spring rates because i havent tracked the car on enough different tracks. you have to love the mods or else you might as well throw your $ out the window.

Modding car is fun but you really don't get anything out of it, all you get is lose your money. I like cars, modding cars, but I also buy stuff that relate to my hobbies and what I'm good at. Sometimes I think about how much money I've spent on my car . . . . . . I tell myself I'm an idiot :D

My car doesn't own me, I own my car!

'Tay is a bastard, I cop and crash whips! Please believe!

But on the real, I don't get too emotionally wrapped up into the car because after all it is a material thing and there are others things in life that are WAY more important then any of my cars.

I wash my E500 once a month (if it is lucky). I wash my E420 whenever I get around to it.

I don't spend mad money into my car because I never keep a car over 3 years, plus it is just a car.

My car does not contain more expensive equipment then my house, that is just silly to me. My car is an example of what you can expect of my house. I don't drive a nice car and rent or live with parents, cuz that is not cute.

Bottom line is that cars depreciate, and I am into things that make money-money, not take money-money!

I love my car and constantly think of new things to do with it - the fact that I have owned if for 4.5 years is unbelievable to me as I enjoy it just as much every time I drive it. It seems I am slowly realising that it is 19 years old, but it doesn't make me want to get rid of it..

I have spent so much time and effort on it, and there is no way I can justify the amount of money I have stuffed in it, that I will most likely never sell it, but rather keep it as a 'Sunday-driver' or something like that..

I drive the heck out of it occasionally, and even though I know I can damage it while doing so I believe it is built to be used. If something breaks, well then it needs to be replaced. It's just an object, it's nothing more no matter how you choose to look upon it.

In short; My friends think that my car is 'the world' for me, but it's really not. It's just a hobby I love.
