This is for 2002 2.3,sorry nothing for the 1.8 yet!
In standard form, the C230K Sports Coupe 2.3 produces 192 hp and 200 lb.-ft.
Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to between 207 hp and 211 hp, and it's torque to between 216 lb.-ft and 220 lb.-ft.
The price of the Powerchip is USD $840.
Is this a good product guys, and is it worth $840,all opinion would be appreciated, thanks BOBDOLE

Yes, I've heard of them ;)
Seriously considering one for the ML. Darn thing needs more power :o
Almost forgot, moving to 'Engine Tuning' ;)

I would rather go with Upsolute than those company. At least upsolute will re modify the ign/fuel map(at a cost) if you have done additional modification to your car.

i would save the money and spend it toward a RENNTech ECU upgrade. The gains are proven...I had my ECU dont by RENNTech and i definately felt hte results bigtime...even on a normally aspirated motor. For a supercharged motor, i would bet that the gains would be sweeeeeeeeeettttttt!!!!!!!!

I know RENNTech redid Harris' ECU when they did the 3.6L conversion to his M104!!!! As far as chip tuning for a 2.8L M104....i dunno if they do that?

I've heard of them and supposedly they do some good stuff. Aren't they located out of Australia?

powerchips is pretty big in the industry. They recently shifted their focus from lower end american and import cars to more german vehicles. They are very reputable and I don't think you could justify the extra cost of a renntech chip over theirs unless you are interested in modifying your engine in other ways, in which case upsolute can do it for cheaper than renntech.

I have one in my C36 1996 . I got it from the land down under. Sent them my ECU and in 7 days it was back in my hands.
The car feels stronger to me.. and I raced another c 36 in a 1/2 drag and my car killed it and I have 200 to 300 pounds in ICE sounddeading etc..
The guys that I dealt with over the phone and via e mail were great. Did what they say they would do and got it to me in 7 vs. 10 days. Does it really work? Hey I think so and that is all that matters. I do plan on some dyno work to see what my car has now. Dan
My advice for ppl with M119 engine is to stay away for now until they get the bug fixed (probably never)... Your car most likely won't start with their chip.

I have a RENNtech LH-unit fuel management EEPROM in my 1993 500E and it RULES.

Which powerchip company are you talking about .....lower end american and import..???? since when...
2 year ago when I purchased them I have to send my ECU to Australia, Their Main headquarter in Australia..
they just recently expanded and opened a new office in CA....
as far as I know they tune a lot of European car ....
Anyway, I could add great thing about Powerchip like Dan's
my car pull a lot stronger with it..
I could easily burn tires without doing a brake stand..(I have max performance tires not all season, which obviously have more grip)
Last time I killed a c43 on the highway from 60-110 by like almost 2.5 car...
I am sure I will left him further if I were to sprint from 0-110..
I am sure the owner was surprised as h3ll...:)
The other day I took on a Camaro SS (that's right Camaro SS by surprised) as he tried to show of to his girlfriend and try to out run me, and I beat him by almost a car length (it was from stop light to stop light)....
I am sure if he is a perfect driver that car would be hard to beat..
So whatever chip you purchased make sure they have a money back guarantee...
That's what I ask Powerchip when I got mine...

I was tempted to just send in my ECU to Renntech as they should be more expertised tuning Mercedes, but the last Powerchip incident really scared the heck out of me and Upsolute never bothered to answer my questions about tuning my car, so I decided to give up chip tuning all-together.

I think "Poochlin" from MBWorld tried them out (or thiene?) a few months ago. I remember reading that they were pleased with the outcome. The AMG Owner's Club had also regarded them in a similar light.
If their numbers are real, then it's definately a good bang for the buck, IMHO.

Here is their website, but it seems you can't navigate too far because it goes nowhere...

I asked whether he can chip a 420 cuz the database on their site only had 430. Also told them that my car wouldn't crank with powerchip (a hint to them to be careful and make sure they know what they are doing if they decide to chip my car).. No reply.

I see. they can "develop" it. What they will do is dump the EEPROM, and send it to their engineering, and they will see if they can do anything with it.
But since they didn't reply to you, I wouldn't give a rats about them... :)

my car is a 2002 C-230 coupe2.3 i will be the brave sole to be the guinea pig,i have set an appointment for them to take my car with ASP pulley, and do some R&d on it,and hopefully get some b4 and after dynos done, with positive response,so everybody else can jump on the same bandwagon, when all done and completed i will post the dyno charts of hp and torque gains,i know there are many here that would be interested,so all in good time my friends,BOBDOLE

Anyone know if you can get a chip for a 1990 w124 2.6? I'm up for it no matter what it costs. The doctor must know something
