Linh,
Can you please post up the info on the 202 ASP pulley upgrade, including the following bits on information?
HP gain
Torque gain
Reliability in the long-term
Price of the kit itself, and what it includes
Estimated time/cost of install
I have a few fellow 202ers that have been asking me about the kit, but I only have info/experience about the Kleemann.
As requested by Luwin1026 and Golden1245 for more info regarding on mine ASP pulley for the pre-2000 R170 (Slk 230) and pre-2000 W202 (C230 Kompressor sedan). To make this story short, i used to have the Kleemann pulley and wasn't happy with it after i dynoed my car at Evosport. My car air fuel ratio was at 15.1:1 (super lean). I was able to lower the Air fuel ratio by installed the fuel pressure regulator (not include with kit) but still wasn't happy and so i decided to design my own pulley kit with ASP. I consider my kit to be very safe because i run the lowest boost (8.5 psi) then all the others kit out there on the market. Here's the spec. between my old Kleemann pulley vs mine ASP pulley after dynoed test on my manual 99' Slk 230.
Kleeman Pulley
Boost- 9.5 psi
Hp & Tq- 192 hp & 219 tq (Air fuel ratio at 15.1:1)
Hp & Tq- 186 hp & 210 tq ( with fuel pressure regulator drop, the air fuel
ratio drop down to 13.5:1)
Kit- Bigger alloy pulley, alt. pulley, belt, colder plugs and MAS relocation kit.
Labor- Can not install at home without the air impact gun.
Price- $1800
ASP Pulley
Boost- 8.5 psi
Hp & Tq- 184 hp & 209 tq (with fuel pressure regulator and air fuel ratio at
13.1:1)
Kit- Bigger factory pulley with "damper", belt, colder plug, fuel pressure
regulator and "plug & play" Mas relocation kit.
Labor- Can install at home without air impact gun in about 2 hrs. (for manual
only)
Price- $750 (with your old factory pulley exchange)
$1050 (without your old factory pulley exchange)
As for long term reliability, i personally think mine ASP pulley kit is better then Kleemann pulley kit due to two reason. Mine kit used the fuel pressure regulator and run less boost then kleemann. Therefore my air fuel ratio are lower and that in turn lower the combustion chamber temp. for reliability. And also mine ASP pulley are modified from Mercedes factory pulley with "damper" and Kleemann pulley are alloy pulley WITHOUT the factory damper. To be honest, i have sold alot of this kit around the worlds (most to benzworld.org forum members) for the pre-2000 R170 but have never sold one kit to the pre-2000 W202 owner yet because i haven't even thought about promoting this kit in the W202 forum until now because i wasn't really doing this for the money but i just want to help ASP. So, here's the deal, for $750 and your factory pulley exchange, i will sell the complete kit include installation at my house for the first W202 owner with manual tranny. I gaurantee that you will be 100% happy, if not, i will return your car back to stock and refund 100% of your money back. And if you like the kit, in exchange, i just want your words of mouth pass on to this and other forums. If interesting or for more info, please drop me an e-mail at ldnguyen1971@hotmail.com.
Thank you everyone,
Linh
