Here is how it goes
car 1:
My friend's 1998 E36 M3 with--
*Rouge Pulley kit
*Sharky ECU upgrade
*B&M short shifter
*M3 convertiable cross brace & front T-bar
*K&N drop in
(half tank of gas with driver only)
car 2:
My 2001 TT-Q with--
*REVO SPS1 ECU upgrade
*SAMCO Intake hose
*Hyperboost adjustable diverter valve
*K&N drop in
(full tank of gas with me PLUS a passanger)
Location: Aliso V (in OC) local roads
First run: rolling start at about 25mph
i got a slight jump on him at 2nd gear (about 1/2 CL) then we pulled side by side all the way till 75mph and shut down
Second run: at stand still
bad launch for me...i was about 1/4 of a CL behind then he pulled a bit on me due to my bad shifting (cant get into 3rd gear....damn need that quick shifter) and shut down at about 70mph or so (i was 1/2-3/4 CL behind him)
Thrid run: again at stand still
Ok lanuch for both of us....i had a slight jump on 1st gear (i edge less than 1/4 CL) then 2nd gear..he came back up probably due to my slower shifting caz i saw him edge up while i shift...(now we are literally bumper to bumper)...then 3rd gear we are still side by side....and shut down at 75mph
well...it looks like a pretty even race to me...he shifted b4 hitting redline at around 6k rpm (his redline is at around 7k) and i shifted at around 6k (my redline is at 6.6k) the curb weight of both of the cars are about the same (they both weight in at about 3250lbs (+/- 20lbs) i have a passanger so i have a slight weight disadvantage (about 100-130lbs heavier)
:P we were both very impressed with how both of our cars performed (he drove my car earlier b4 we had the run and i drove his car b4)
