Rx-8 Spanked

so last nite after Doc wussy out from dinner wit michelle and I, on our way back to SLO town on 101 i was crusing at 75mph as usual and this car with some xenon light was closing up FAST

i was like what is it, i though it was a new Z at first.....i moved over to the right lane and saw it was a rx-8

new without plates yet...the dude was wit his girl in the car..he looked over smiled and downshift....(so he wanna play :-)

so i got behind him and downshifted to 4th...traffic opened up we both hit it (at about 80mph)i was right on his A$$ all the way till the end of 5th gear and once i shifted to 6th gear i was 'pushing' on him (aka 'gaining') so he moved over to the right lane and this time he got behind me.......but there was some traffic up front......soo we slowed down and when it cleared up....i pushed it again (down to 4th) then 5th and 6th and by the end of 5th gear to 6th gear i was once again started to slowly creep away from him (as he was about 1/2 CL behind me and was at about 1 CL by the time i shut down and took the exit)

so he follwed me and took the exit and we pulled over and talked

guy: " hey pretty good run"
me: "yeah"
guy: "wow i didn't know hese cars are that fast"
me: "yeah stock 225hp"
guy: "yours is not stock rite?? cause i saw that 'REVO' siticker on the side and i said that cant be stock", "so what is 'REVO'??"
me: "is a ECU upgrade....it turns up the boost.....stock it runs at about 0.9-1bar and wit REVO it peaks at about 1.6bars"
guy: "how many PSI is that"
me: "stock is 14psi and now its about 22-23psi"
guy: "damn...so it is turboed"
me: "yeah a single K04"
guy: " WOW....yeah and it looks stock too"
me: "yeah that's how i like it....sleeper"
guy: "HAHA yeah totally man"
me: " so its ur car stock??"
guy: " yeah its new, 6 speed"
me: "oic, so it is the higher hp one"
guy: "yeah 240hp"
me: "cool"

a spanking is what i put on a G35 coupe that tried to run me in the E55. we are talking many buslenghts..not a car length. that's not a spanking..that's a kill. B) good job nonetheless. :)

lol... the z could kill RX-8. Damn, if I come to autofest, I'll get my dad to get me a z when I'm there and we'll race :) Since they are so close in terms of hp and performance, it will be a test of driving skill B)

Is 6th gear in the TT just a fuel-saving cruising gear like a lot of other cars, or is it a true "accelerative" gear (for lack of a better word)?

no its not a fuel saving gear

its really a 6th gear because you can really 'accelrate' in 6th gear

i mean you are only at about 110-120mph in 5th gear and the car's stock speed limiter is at 142mph
