One week ago, I was on the highway in Switzerland driving at the speed limit. (ok.....ok...A little faster than the speed limit but not by much). Anyway, suddenly, I saw a black Mitsubishi evo 8 (2 liter engine; 4 inline turbo; 265hp European specs) that was closing on my extremely fast... I sort of blocked him cause he was going way to fast but I thought:

"Alright bro, lets see if you can drive that thing" <_<

The exit was a very long corner where the speed limit is 60 km/h. Its a very safe corner: no pedestrians, no animals or anything like that... The only thing you can brake is yourself and your Benz. Anyway, I did a very hard braking, downshifted and I was going around 120km/h in the corner.

Now, chassis wise, the extra grip given by the stiffen suspensions and the 245/40/17 tries is un-believable I must admit. The Michelin tires were screaming like crazy and I was close to the limit.... but the funny thing is that the Lancer guy totally chicken out! :D

He tried to overpass me a few times on the straights but around when corners came.....NOTHING!! I completely smocked him B) Even more important than that is really what a car MB have manage to built here. I have driven a few very fast cars but none of them are so easy to point out a racing speed and who feel so well balanced. (Apart from the Lotus Exige but lets compare what’s comparable)

One last funny anecdote, after that, the LANCER guy stayed fare from me & da EVO Benz!! We were driving in the city and he was like

I was like

nice kill, but i must say that those lancer evo's are quick. would have been more fun is that driver knew what he was doing.

Great kill! Hopefully that will inspire that driver to go learn some skills so he can utilize his car to its potential

Those EVO's are quick 0-60, but that's about it. I came up on a few (modded ones) on some highway runs. Always the same result, I left them like they were standing still.

This is a great example of how easy it is for anyone to go fast in a straight line in a fast car. But it doesn't mean they are a good driver.

For me, I think good drivers are people who know how to handle their car in everything but straight lines.

It's true though that a car is only as fast as the person behind the wheel. At the track, my friend was passing mustangs and porsches in his civic hachback. Not in the straights but in the turns :)
