Seriously thinking about using ultrasuede for the interior, i.e.; "A" pillars, door panels, head liner, and maybe even for the seats, but only center of seats (two tone) look combined with leather. What do you all think? Good/Bad

I think its a good idea but make sure you have a shop that will do it right. I wouldn't do it on the seats though, two tone leather yes.

Sounds good, but I agree with concepteuro, just do all the headliner stuff. I'm planning on doing the same to my CLK :0)

I was kinda thinking the same thing as my leather on my drivers seat is getting worn(im the only one who notices but I think we are all a bit anal about our cars here!!!LOL) And was thinking of doing leather outer and alcantra inners on the seats...but not two tone, grey and grey....but I would like to see if anyone else has done it. Im thinking of the alcantra in the middle as it is synthetic and prob. easier to clean if nessesary and a lot more grippy than the stock seats are now. I now hold on to what ever as I take onramps and offramps as fast as my little benz will go!!

slk320 had been looking into some quality places to get the work done. I was going to do the pillars, doors and headliner in alcantara...

We'll see, that's an expensive mod.

I think you are thinking of "Suede Head" for that Morrissey album.. damn, I miss The Smiths.

Ok, sorry, moving back to Benz talk.

From what I have been able to research, alcantra is pretty difficult to find and work with. not every upholstery shop deals or even knows of the stuff. And if they do, sometimes they can't get it or will not work with it on high end cars.

If anyone knows of a Bay Area shop that can do alcantra work on the interior please, please let me know! Thank you!
