Where can I find a replacement lense for my headlamps? They don't have to be off of a E500...can also be off a E420 or E320.....I just want the glass cover w/o the housing....Price too...also...what kinda drill bid would I use to drill into the glass?? just for a project I thought of....

what the heck are you trying to do now...lol..... you and your car never cease to amaze me... keep up the great work..

lol....I just wanted to drill where the foglamps (on the E500 they're the high-beams) just to drill bunch of small holes, like a mesh, or just cut out a circular shape out and replace it with an aluminum or carbon kevlar pipeing that'll run stright into my both sides of my air box :D How's that??? Help me out here People....Is it a stupid Idea???? and if anyone thinks it's an ok Idea...please don't run off and do it on your own...I wanna see what/how you're do this..........................
Thanks again for everything guys...and please....Help me out here...

What, exactly, is your goal?
Drilling lights is NOT advised...

my goal is.....(maybe stupid...don't know if it'll really help much).
Ok, you know how on those race cars they usually have like a light tooken out to get more air in the air box (I think?). Well, I want to do the same but w/o taking the entire light out....I just wanted to basically cut out the fog lights portion...(if you look, its in a circular form) and just run a pipe stright to my air in-take from both sides, because I've notice that the plastic pipes that connect to the in-take run behind the headlamps (for V8 W124's) and don't really help much...so if I just continued the pipe right into the headlamp and just suck in air from the front of my car...It'll help a lot (I think? ) but like I said before...I don't know Sh!t abt performance :(

You could remove the fog-lights, completely, and:
1) install small, brushless, electric (PC tower-case style) puller-fans in the resultant holes
2) cover the holes with fine mesh (to block the gap, visually, but to allow air-flow)
3) run ducting to your "Y-pipe modified" air intake tubes
Be advised: forcing more air into the airbox in this fashion (likely) will "blow out the wick" of the M119 LH injection system.
The purpose of the "wiper-panel intake mod" was/is to allow more airflow to the *engine bay* - that hotter-than-Hell playground of the deranged.
You'd do better to have some M119 headers custom-made (good luck)!
On on unrelated note: can you/your dad source me some 500E (MBZ OEM) leather seat covers (front and rear)?

So forcing more air is not good :( Damn....I acctually thought I had a good Idea there :( oh well....Life's a b!tch when you don't know sh!t....Is there like a performance 101 site or book..
I'll ask my uncle for the seats, but I Extremely doubt I'll find them...cus I couldn't for my self when I was looking for them....

Scott, I am going to have to disagree *gasp* with you on this one. I don't think the computer type fans are a good idea, they simply don't move enough air. I posted on mercedesshop about that earlier, using 300 cfm models, and I got TOLD. They would basically just be a constriction in the system.
On the same note, im sure you know more about the m119 than I do, but wouldn't Albert's idea introduce more cold air into the system? More air shouldn't be much of an issue because the tb and piping can only allow a fixed amount of air through but by modding the headlights, you can get colder air. Continuing, I think the filler piece air mod would look a lot better than drilling the fog/driving light and give you similiar results.

As I have had my stalling problem for 3+ years, now, I must conclude that it is airbox-related.
I have confirmed with 2 Shop Foremen (at Autobahn Motors and Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco) that a large # of their
W124 RENNtech airbox customers have stalling issues (something I'm sure RENNtech will deny/disown).
Colder air is better, of course; however, for the (inferred) miniscule gains achievable by Albert's proposed mod, I think adding engine oil
and transmission fluid intercoolers would be more advisable mods. Adding a puller-fan to said radiators wouldn't hurt; however, Bob Brady
told me RENNtech did not feel doing so added any significant benefit.
I am not a (licensed) mechanical engineer, either; however, as long as fans can process the inbound airflow (as opposed to restricting it),
I see no problem. It would seem (to me) to be a simple CFM/RPM matter/calculus derivative/differential element equation.

WTF?? Stalling airbox related? How so. E-mail me, because I had the stalling issue with the stock box.

So did I, EnShanta; however, this is what I was told, last week by Vince Van Hoven at the 11th/Folsom service center.
I told him I had the problem before the bigger airbox and he shrugged his shoulders.

In reference to the airflow question, it is even simpler than actually doing work yourself. There are several sights on the net that have worked out the CFM an engine requires based on its displacement. If I recall correctly (its been a while) my 3 litre required a little over 300 cfm at WOT. Your 5 litre beastengines will (obviously) require more. Regardless, I wasn't aware of your stalling problem, I am saddened to hear about it. Partly because it is on your fine ride and partly because the only conclusion that can be drawn is that the LH system is even less versatile than I thought. :(
On a connected note, stalling is normally assosciated with a rich running engine. Of course, if the mixture gets too lean (too much air) the car will stall out, but some pinging would probably be noticable in such a situation. Did perhaps the previous owner of your car dabble in some modifications?

No; the PO was a meek doctor-type who barely drove the car!

If Porsche engineers felt that air needed to come through the headlight area they would have done that! Contact Renntech, they have what you need, or think you need. P.

Thanks... (???)
What, exactly, do you think RENNtech has to add?
My personal assessment is that they are done with/no longer interested in the W124
(hence, the buried/hidden W124 PDF catalouge on their website)... 6.0L upgrades excepted.

Lets face it, these tuners are about $$$. Considering the market value of our w124s, I wouldn't blame tuners for not running programs that would cost 40k to modify a 30k car.
