I bought a Red Top recently off eBay... I was going to a two battery setup. Red for the car & Yellow (deep cycle) for the ICE & Audio equipment. I'll post pics when I get home...

Jerm, I have 3 caps helping.. The interior light blinks ever so slightly when I really really crank the bass up, but it's not so bad yet..

Here is the deal on the battery. If you plan on sitting in your car without the car running, than you need batteries. If listen in your car while idling, your alternator is doing the work to supply power to your amps, recharging your battery, and filling up your caps.

Because of Sound off competition requires you to have your car turn off during measurement, most of those guys have batteries.

If your listening time, like most people are during driving....I wouldn't worry about batteries.

Jeremy, what kind of yellow top battery are you using in your car? I've been thinking about getting one for my W124.

I think there's no other brand than OPTIMA.
I got the red Optima on both of my cars.

It's the yellow top deep cycle battery. I think they only have one model :) Good stuff

A larger battery does make a difference though. When I had my stock mercedes battery, my lights would dim a lot whenever I had the bass up, especially while idling. I went to sam's and bought the biggest battery they had, 1000 cold crank amps, and now my lights don't dim when the music hits. The mercedes battery now sits comfortably in my dad's infiniti.
