I went there to take the W210 yesterday, for a B service and do a version code for Comand to pop up on the dash cluster display.

I show up there 45 minutes late for my appointement. I ask for my loaner which I requested over a week ago. There's none. Funny, I just heard a lady getting hushed over to her loaner "Follow me to your loaner Mrs. x." Right. Whatever. They gonna rent me a car. I asked what kind, and he said "Could be a geo, could be a taurus." I said kindly "well I just hope it's a car I can fit in."

Enterprise guy comes rolling in a Jeep Liberty. Says it's mine "Usually for something like this, you'd have to pay extra, but we had it here, so we're giving it to you, no charge." I'm like cool. Free rental, free upgrade! I kicked down $29 for insurance anyway, in case I rolled over or something and didn't want my insurance to reflect that.

Anyhoo, off I go for the day. It's about 11:30am.

Later I get a call from my service advisor (after I called and left a message asking to call me back). He tells me the stuff that needs to be fixed. Bunch of crap that I don't care about like the passenger side visor that needs replacement b/c it sometimes light up and sometimes doesn't. Cost? $150. Forget that!

So then I ask him over the phone "Say, I asked you to version code the car, how much did you quote me for that, because I Got someone over at Laguna Niguel (or whatever) Mercedes, that'll do it for like $20-25?" Then he goes "::GASP:: Well it's $150, But I'll let that go for $95."

At this point I'm thinking, "ok he's ripping me off, but crap I'm already here, let's just get it over with." I say "ok dood, do it for $75." He agrees. But I'm still thinking I'm getting ripped off.
I make a couple phone calls, one to my knowledge base Mr Cummins, one to my dad. MY dad goes "Forget it, just do it for $75, and f- 'em, just don't go back there again. Nobody ever goes from 150 to 75 bucks just like that. The dood is just shooting numbers outta his a$$!" Then I call Mark, and he tells me what to tell him to '0wn' him.

I go pick up the car around 4:45pm. Service advisor goes over the stuff with me:
him: "Ok so that's this, and that's that much, and that, and this, and the $75 for command."

me: "Ok but when you do a B service, you guys get in the computer to pull codes right?"
him: "yes"
me: So since you're already connect to 'Star' and all, why not just go to the convinience area in there, and just click click, two minutes, version code comand, we're done and it's all good. I mean shoot, I rather give you $20 in tip than $75 to the dealership you know?"
him: ::blushing, and stuttering cuz he got caught red-handed:: Bbuu bbuutt butt you have to go and dig deeper in it and buuu bubu"
me: ::plays the clueless asian:: OHHhh ook me not know that! It ok! you do good job! I come back again!

ass. Trying to rip me off like that. But whatever, lesson learned.

So then I go in the car, and I'm about to leave...and wait..what the...no comand on my dash!

I go back in, and he goes "ohh well they must've just done a comand present but not in the dash.

More BS

He takes the car in, and I watched them do it. It took them 5 minutes to do it, literraly! Dig deeper? Yea right.

I 0wned him, thanks to Mark with the technicalities :)

Next time I come, I doubt he'll try to F- w/ me again.

My rating:

Quality of service : A
Quality of work: B+
Rip off factor: A+
