When contemplating whether you should go with Iforged or HRE, you need not only think about price. What you really need to think about is Quality of Service (QOS).

My one and only complaint about my dealings with Iforged is QOS. It took me 4 months to receive my wheels, but that really didn’t bother me. What really bothered me was that in those 4 months Iforged never called me to give me an update on the status of my wheels, I had to call them, and when I did call them I received nothing but lies.

On one instance I was told my wheels were finished and getting clear coated and would be sent out by the end of the week. Well two weeks have come and gone and still no wheels and no phone call/voice mail/e-mail. So I called up Vincent Wong at Iforged and got his voicemail and left a message. I then proceeded to send an e-mail to Vincent because I know voice response is very slow. In my e-mail I asked very simply “What happened, I didn’t receive my wheels yet”. Vincent replied “We are waiting for the materials to finish building your wheels”. I reply back “Two weeks ago you told me that my wheels were finished and getting clear coated, and now you are telling me that they are not even built yet. What gives?” At this point Vincent does not reply back.

Another instance is when Iforged (Vincent) quoted me a price and wouldn’t live up to it. The first time this happen, I will say shame on me because I accidentally deleted the e-mail that had the price that Vincent quoted me, so I took the wrap for this one, because Vincent said he doesn’t save his sent e-mails (though I have since caught him in a lie, because he does save his sent e-mails). This has a learning experience for me so I immediately had Vincent e-mail and fax me a written quote, minus shipping. I am glad I did this because once my wheels were done, Vincent again had a memory lapse and tried to over charge me again, but this time I had the written quote he sent me and he had no choice but to give me the price he quoted.

Overall, I am very happen with my wheels from Iforged, but I cannot say the same about their service.

I will end by saying this; I got what I paid for (wheels and nothing else)!

That, I have to agree.
I have the same exact experience.
I received my wheels after 3 months of waiting.
During the wait I called Vince at least once a week and all the update he gave are total crap!
I'd say no to Iforged and I recommend all of you to do the same too!
Should have been HRE all the way!

To tell you the truth

I was thinking of getting iForged wheels seriously since Christmas last year,
but I keep debating whether to get it or not..

then I heard about iForged problem at Audi World, and then the "never finished" Shanta's wheels as well..

That make me doubt even more if I want to go with iForged..

I am not sure about HRE's QQS but if they have 1st class rate then I might just bring my business over to HRE ...

I hope iForged reads this thread.. so they can get back and working on their QQS department :)

Iforged is getting slammed on the bmw forums. It's funny how they went from darling superstar to satan-incarnate.

They need to change their distribution model from factory direct to authorized retailers. They are not equipped to handle the customer service issues that result from selling wheels directly to clients.

I'm pretty sure they'll be a great company a year from now. But as of right now, they got alot of issues.

Yup, that's the case with many companies... Need to get good PR people cuz that's what builds image. And in this market, image can take you many places...

They are making alot of cash with thier prices, I'm sure then can afford to have a PR dept.

If anything..at least tell the cutomer that it will take 3-4 months to recieve the rims. They can make an excuse saying it's worth the wait cause each iforge rim is special or something like that. At least they won;t get angry customers wasting thier time calling asking if thier rims are ready yet.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd add my two cents!
For IForged to take 4 months to make a set of wheels is just outright PATHETIC!

I have some Simmons (http://www.simmonswheel.com.au) wheels on order at the moment. I have been quoted 6 weeks! With any luck, I'll have them after 4 weeks! :)

Well, IForged was just flooded with orders. Everything went on backorder since they couldnt keep up with the demand. Now they hired more people and got their act together. I love my wheels and my second set came in 3 weeks. :D It should tell you something if everyone is just complaining about how long it took. Thats just a given saying that they are popular.

Now as for HRE, they also have their issues. I have known personally of instances where they leak air. Basically the sealant is expensive and if they dont seal it properly it leaks. A guy who worked at HRE told me that they have cheap labor putting the wheels together and that they screw up sometimes. LOL. From a business perspective its understandable since you cant hire rocket scientists to put wheels together for a living. Still they need to figure out the Quality Control. Nobody is perfect, not IForged or HRE. ;)

Plus, these companies are still relatively young and very inexperienced

LOL. Ordered my IForged on the 12th of April, got them on the 14th of May.

No excuses. Homie called me "Rims are ready." I went, picked 'em up, put them on, no problems. Ish is sweet!

Vince kick ass. He came through fast and no problems along the way. I had the chance to walk through their facilities and holy cow, it's a big ass operation! So many people, so many rims! Insane! They got their stuff together!

IForged: A+++++ in my book! :)
