Chillin like a villain at The Wheel Supply this past Saturday, Jane getting her wheels put on, kickin' it with my man Sander and AJ from the Biggity Bay, when all of a sudden, Sander rushes out with a fire extinguisher!

Storage place next door catches fire - apparently some guy started up his old car in his storage and it lit up, and he does a smart thing (sarcasm) by shutting his door.

So to make a long story short - place goes up in flames, and eventually a grip of fire trucks and police cars as well as HAZMAT came on down for an impromptu TWS emergency vehicle GTG.

Being the loyal forum reporter that I try to be, I ran and got my camera to share with you this exciting experience, and even risked camera meltage as I got up on the railroad tracks to get some up close footage. Pics to follow, for I know that's what you would rather see . . .

Gotta get the bling bling shot of the fire truck with the deep dish, custom offset wheels - staggered, of course. Word has it that the fire captain waited 4 agonizing months for these, and the manufacturer gave him the runaround a few times, but he wanted to make sure he got the bling -

Sorry - confusion - she just had a rear wheel repaired due to a curb rash - that's all. But 19's should be coming . . . . TBA

I don't think those 2 paramedics are concern if there's any injuries involved. It's like they're more concentrated towards the cars on the lot. Ummmmmm I think that one look's better than the other. No I think that 744 in front of us look's the best among them all... :P :D ;) :)

Hey Lu, you missed out man....right as you were leaving, the roof of the storage place exploded, and the radios started blaring out for a firefighter roll call. Luckily, I don't think that anyone got hurt, as I never saw the ambulance go into action.

Eventually, that little shack fire we saw would grow to engulf 15 units of storage, and something on the order of 20 fire trucks rolled in. And I'd be stuck there for quite some time since I couldn't drive over the hoses. A bit later though, the incident commander let me go and I left at about 7:30ish....so I bugged out of there.

Let this be a lesson...if you're starting an old car for the first time bring a fire extinguisher. And in LA, even the firefighters go for the hella "deep dish" look

How funny that y'all thought I got new wheels -- y'all must not know me very well. :)

This is what I get for hanging around TWS when I didn't need to - at least I got to see some firemen. WOO HOO.

Was Sander's storage ok?

Whatever man! you know you're the one who started the fire! It was only a matter of time before all those cig butts spontaneously combusted!

lol. Glad I quit smoking already so I have nothing to do with it! haha

Actually I should be there last week to replace my almost-bald rear tires but no time! I might be there in the coming 2 or 3 weeks later, so if any of you are going to curb your wheels or something in near future (NOT trying to jinx you or anything, really!! :P ), then I'll see you there. :D

Man, you must eat through tires quick huh?

W420

I think so... My rear always get chew out first and front get couple more months lifespan. I got these Pirrelis on AUG/02 so it's been 11 MONTHS - 12,000 MILES and it's ALMOST bald (the rear).

I'm actually happy this time because my last set S-O2 only lasted 8,000 MILES when the metal wires were already visible on the inside of tire.. It looks like I have less negative camber than before which explains 4K miles longer tire life!

Brabus
06-16-2003, 02:50 PM
Hahhaha, I guess that's something to be happy about :D

But then again, doesn't each tire cost like $300??

I saw that in the news, The guy was like"I just turned my car over and it blew up" Crazy..It said it burned like 7 storage places..

Yah for P-Zero :( :( I think SO-3 should be $20 or $30 cheaper each so that's what I will use as replacement since they are also great tires.

I'm pretty sure my next car will be rolling on 19's. :) Can't afford 20's anymore on a lowered car.

I just hope no-one else who had stuff int hose storage units had anythign get ruined. That'd be one expensive replacement, if say someone else was using one of the storage units that caught on fire from that guy's mess up.

Lesson be learned. Pusht he car outta the storage unit before you fire it up, lets you want to fire up the whole building.
