I was approaching a set of lights and had to slow down as they were red. Just as I stopped, they turned green. There were two Ford SUV's next to each other, identical models except one was a cop car.
I took off normally so the cops wouldn't pull me over, but as we all crossed the intersection the cop car and the other SUV hit it! :D These two SUV's were hammering down the road travelling about 100+ in an 80 zone. I couldn't believe it. Maybe they were friends

Chris

On a side note(Iam also a police officer part time bout 4 times a month I work) I was in our LT1 Caprice(before we laid it to rest a few years back) and saw a friend of mine in his departments cruiser(Ford Crown Vic) and we raced at every light, of course I won but it had to be a sight none the less!

Not really, and the officers I know are all pretty cool and let alot (I let even more) slide if its something they do as well, ie speed(15 or so above the limit EXCEPT in school zones or residential) goof off etc.....the only pricks in my area are the old timers and the kids picked on in school....so when I stop someone for something I do, IF I even stop them, as long as they tell the truth or tell a really good lie that makes me laugh I let it slide. Now if its reckless, drunk driving or kids not in seatbelts, sorry no allowances given, but if your racing out in the country not hurting anyone but your selves no biggie. Or its the dead of the night like it was with us again alot of slack is given. But as with most of my friends who are officers, its all about attitudes. If your being a prick when we talk to you, FO GET ABOW TIT, ticket will be served warm. :D Hope this helps. Also if you can do a ride along program with your local agency you will have alot more appreciation for your local officer.

My friends little brother (13) was killed by a cop. Cop was speeding (for no reason) and hit him as he crossed the street (walking). The only action taken was that she had a desk job for a couple years.

Im sorry to hear that. That was Reckless, they should be held to the same standards as everyone else.

What alot of people dont realize( I know this can be abused) but often times we respond to a call without lights or sirens especially if its a robbery alert from a gas station or bank etc. Often times it doesnt warrant a full fledged lights sirens etc to get to a call, but we may go thru a red light once the intersection clears or speed a little to get there.

I know this doesnt help what happend or how you feel just giving some insight.

Haha I was just kidding, geez, I need to live in your area! Down here it seems like the cops are just looking for anything to do!

However I find now that the V1 is pretty much useless unless you are on a highway, because all the cops around here never drive with any radar on.

LOL No prob Redline just given some input. :D The V1 is the best radar bar none, but if they are using instant(as I do to keep from being bored sometimes lol) nothing can help. But by all means if I wasnt involved with an agency I too would own 1!
