Here is the re-post of my article from after the bnzsport crash:

Hey Guys,
I just got done with my first new mod in a while. Bare with the book I wrote, but I like to document my mods as well as I can for others. I decided to move my sub to the trunk from the back floorboard and construct a panel covering everything but the my amp. This had unexpected results, such as much more bass let into the cabin and support for the amp and box to fit into. I'm still using my Image Dynamics IDQ-10 and Phoenix Gold QX180.2, as I'm really happy with the sound.
The box rests on normal floor of the trunk, and I constructed the panel around the amp, which is actually bolted to the back of the box with the sub facing the inside of the cabin. The panel fits perfectly height wise so that it tucks up under the trunk roof, keeping it very tight so it won't move. You can find this wood at your home improvment store right by the peg board sheets. (used to hang tools from your wall) In fact, it's the same wood but without the holes. The dimensions for the cutting are: Length: 42 in. and Height: 19+3/4 in. The upper corners will need to be cut down in order for the trunk to close, but this is easy with a dremel tool. Make sure the wood panel will fit nice and tight under the trunk roof. If not, trim it down. Next is the harder part, outlining the center hole for the amp to fit through. You need to mark on the board with a pen the outline of the amp, in relation to how it will sit on the floor of your trunk. (Or however your setup may be) I used a dremel tool and a steady hand to cut the hole out, but a jigsaw would be easier if you have one. Be sure to make a little extra room for the carpet, but not too much. Remember, it's better to cut too little than too much. After that's done, you need to carpet the panel. I used roll on adhesive and the same black carpet to match my trunk roof insulation with the panel. As you can see in the pic, I placed heavy objects with flat surfaces on the panel and let the adhesive dry overnight. The pics tell the rest. Happy modding and if you have any questions just ask! The full article will be on my site shortly. I've got new Zebrano wood to install tomorrow, finally all my wood will be new. Also, I got my AC fixed. I'm SOOOO happy with my car right now! :)

As I say in the original post, this is a panel, not a box, the box is behind the panel, and the amp is mounted on the back of the box and showing through the panel.....so the SUB is facing the opposite way, toward the engine, so that the bass is routed to through the first aid kit opening.
